Today we’re going to journey into the world of Waldorf wonders I’ll be making a few changes to the original recipe for a crunchy creamy dreamy wal dwarf that will inspire you to make this salad your own so if celery or nuts aren’t your thing no worries this classic salad is
As versatile as it is Simple welcome back friends if you’re new here my name is Lan and I am so happy that you’re here Today to get this recipe started we’re going to wash the grapes and the apples now the way that I do this is I like to put them in a big pan of water and add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar I then allow those to soak for 5 Minutes Now that they’re clean it’s time to slice core and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces equaling 2 cups now you’re just going to take those apples and add them to a large mixing bowl along with 2 tpoon of lemon juice and 1 tblspoon of granulated sugar and just stir that well to get
Everything coated now just set that bowl aside and we’re going to head back to The Cutting Board to slice our grapes now the grapes that I’m using today are pretty big so I’m cutting them into quarters but I believe in the classic recipe you would just cut these in half
Now add Those Grapes to your apples and the next classic ingredient is to chop one cup of nuts for this version I’m using a half a cup of walnuts and a half a cup of Pecans now just add those nuts to the fruit and stir until it’s well combined and that takes care of the crunch now it’s time for the creamy dreamy dressing in a small bowl add 1/4 cup of mayonnaise and 1/4 cup of sour cream and Stir pour the dressing over the fruit and nuts and stir until it’s all combined and creamy friend if you’re enjoying this recipe or others on this channel remember the easiest way to show your support is to give this recipe a big thumbs up I truly appreciate all of your
Support okay so up to this point everything is based off of the original version of the Waldorf except for one thing did you notice I left out the celery so if you enjoy celery go ahead and stir in a half a cup and your classic wal dworf salad will be complete
But I like to go a step further by adding a/4 cup of sweetened coconut to the top along with a few more nuts for a beautiful presentation the versatility of this salad is endless so let me know in the comments how would you change up this classic recipe I always look forward to
Hearing your opinions and your creative variations some examples could be to try different varieties of apples swap the walnuts out for almond or add a Sprinkle of cinnamon you can even add this to a bed of lettuce with some grilled chicken for a super delicious and healthy dinner
With just a few simple steps you can create a waldorf salad that’s like no other well thanks so much again friends for spending some time with me today until next time if you enjoyed today’s classic salad recipe here’s another one that I think you may enjoy I’ll see you next time bye a
