I recently moved my coffee station for the work surface to a dedicated cart in order to make more room in our kitchen. I think it works well, and looks better than I had anticipated. The obvious downside is that the grinder is now only about a foot off the floor, but it helps me get my squats in!

I used the RASKOG cart in black from IKEA, which seemed to be a good fit. I like how there is enough space for the machine on top of the unit as well as a shelf underneath for the grinder, beans and accessories. It’s made a huge difference to our kitchen work surfaces as it’s added another 60x60cm area of space to use, which is awesome, and the cart is small enough not to get in the way.

Any machine smaller than the DE1 should work with such a set-up. Something like the Bambino, Gaggia Classic and possibly even the Linea Micra (although I’m not 100% on dimensions for the LM) should fit.

Why does your lamp get more space than the Decent?

Why not stop using the kitchen for cooking food and just dedicate all of your kitchen to your coffee setup instead? 😆 But seriously, love the intuitiveness and dedication to making room for your setup!

I’ve never seen a transparent case on a machine like that. Super cool.

How do you find tamping on the cart? Worried about pressing too hard?
