So today I ate Dave’s hot chicken for the 2nd time I got the extra hot. Chicken was cooked perfect and it tasted great, but either my heat tolerance is up or this was just kinda hot. Did I get an off cook or is there a huge jump between extra hot and reaper thats not there between hot and extra?

I got ‘Hot’ when I ordered from there and it nearly blew my face off. You probably have a high tolerance, but I feel like the heat varies wildly from order to order and by location.
If you run a search on Dave’s in this sub you’ll see many references to how much the heat varies, even at the same location.
It varies quite a bit per order. I always get Extra Hot. Had some that rocked me, had some that felt like medium
I’ve only been once here in Seattle and the extra hot was perfect. Gave me some forehead sweat, but no tears
Extra hot doesn’t taste hot to me AT ALL, but the reaper always kills me for some reason
I maxed out the hot a few times and found it to very meh. I was probably unlucky but SD has better options for consistent hot chicken
