Hey y’all i’m hilah welcome to hilah cooking so today i’m going to share a very special recipe that you will find in my upcoming top secret book that i will tell you all about at the end of the episode so you have to watch the whole thing to find out i’m so tricky

Anyways it’s how i make pasta primavera which is like pasta with vegetables and stuff as you probably know and it’s springtime and primavera means spring in italian and i know that because i dated an italian guy one time so this is totally authentic it’s not really but you know what let’s just do

It okay so i’ve got some ingredients here to tell you about so i got some tomatoes that are cut up and some fresh herbs that my friend susan gave me and some vegetables and you can kind of use whatever you want but i got some green beans and some broccoli and carrots and

Then some spaghetti and some lemon and garlic and olive oil and then it’s super dupes easy so let’s start cutting stuff up actually the first thing that you need to do is turn on the heat on your water so that it’s right hold on it’s gonna work there we go

Got it okay cool so i’m gonna um go ahead and set the vegetable part aside it’s gonna be cooked later and then sort of like this is like an uncooked sauce it’s you could also like probably use this to make like bruschetta or something but um what i got here is some parsley

And some oregano and if you have dried you can use that but if you have if you can get the fresh ones then super way more awesomer if you have a super awesome friend with a garden hit em up okay and then also you could use basil

Instead of parsley but i have parsley so that’s what we’re doing today either way totally fine not gonna be pissed at you whatever you do i’ll never be pissed at any of you guys because y’all are awesome okay so this is how i’m gonna do this

I’m gonna sort of like wad this whole little mess up into a tiny little ball and then i’m just gonna chop the hell out of it with my knife really really fast so don’t even blink it wasn’t that fast now it’s getting really fast though check this out oh my god

So fast like i might as well have my eyes closed because i can’t even see what i’m doing okay that’s good um throw that in with my tomatoes and that’s like maybe a couple of tomatoes there chopped up whatever diced and then some lemon that’s in there and then some garlic blam and

Again with my lightning fast chopping skills wherein i don’t even cut myself hardly ever look i’m not even looking i’m not cutting myself living on the edge guys next time you see me i might be missing a finger okay cool that’s chopped up throw that business in

And then a little bit of salt and that’ll kind of like obviously flavor it but also kind of help bring some of the juice out of the tomatoes to sort of make more of a saucy business happening and then some olive oil and uh i’m gonna sort of mix this up

Not sort of i’m totally gonna mix this up and then just let this kind of sit and like marinate upon itself while my pasta water comes to boil and then then we’re like practically halfway done so hold please okay so water is boiling hooray i’m gonna put in

Half of this approximately so about eight ounces and uh stir it around a little bit so it doesn’t get all clumpy because that’s unattractive people okay and then i’m just gonna set the timer for like five minutes and which is a little bit short of the recommended

Cooking time but then for the last minute or so i’m going to throw the vegetables in and kind of blanch those as the pasta is cooking and then and then we’ll be basically done okay so put the lid back on so it comes back to boil faster nifty trick

Okay cool all right awesome party people it’s been five minutes so i’m gonna throw in these other vegetables and just let it go for like another minute or so it’s gonna stop boiling briefly but yeah one more minute and then drain that mofo out okay they’re almost ready maybe like another

30 seconds or so perf super hot totally not gonna burn myself for y’all even though i totally would wow okay and then all you do is add this to that it’s all just about adding things to other things people that is the way we cook you know what i’m gonna add some more

Oil to this business that’s also the way we cook if it doesn’t look right you just add something else at some point you have to know when to stop though all right this looks beautiful and it smells delicious let’s eat okay watch me slurp noodles y’all it’s gonna be super fun

  1. Extra virgin olive oil comes from the first pressing of the olives. It has a darker green color and straonger olive flavor than olive oil, which comes from the second pressing. EV olive oil is more delicate and best used in salad dressings, rather than cooking because it can burn.

  5. Don't cook the vegetables with the pasta , and then throw the water out. You're wasting nutrients. Cook the veggies separately, then mix.

  9. Were you a little high or tipsy when you made this video? It sure seems to me that way… I also sometimes cook with wine, and occasionally, I even put some in the food!
    And what happened to your left eye? Bad make-up, or worse? Should we be worried?
    I like that recipe, but I think it might be better as a one-pot cooking affair!
