CRONUTS
Ingredients
2½ cups refined flour + for dusting
1 cup + 2-3 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1½ teaspoons fresh yeast
2 tablespoons butter + for spreading
1½ teaspoons+ few dropsvanilla essence
Oil for deep-frying
2 tablespoons icing sugar
Melted dark chocolate for coating
4-5 hazelnuts
Method
1. Preheat oven at 180ºC. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Heat 1 cup milk in a non-stick pan. Add sugarand cook till it melts.
3. Take fresh yeast in a bowl. Add ¼ of the warm milk and mix well. Set aside for 1-2 minutes to activate.
4. Add butter to remaining milk and whisk well.
5. Sieve flour in a bowl. Add activated yeast, 1 egg yolk and 1½ teaspoons vanilla essence and mix well. Add milk mixture and knead into a soft dough.
6. Dustthe worktop with some flour, place the dough and stretch. Cover the dough with cling film and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
7. Dust the worktop with some flour and roll out the dough into a thin rectangular sheet. Spread some butter over the sheet, make an E-fold and cover with cling film. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes. Repeat the process 5 times.
8. Dust the worktop with some flour, place the dough on it and roll out to make 1 inch thick sheet.Cut into roundels using a medium size cookie cutter. Cut a hole in centre using a small cookie cutter. Put the roundels onto a baking tray and set aside in a warm place for 10 minutes.
9. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.Deep-fry roundels till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
10. Take icing sugar in a bowl. Add a few drops of vanilla essence and 2-3 tablespoons of milk and mix well.
11. Coat one side of some cronuts in melted dark chocolate. Place all cronuts onto a baking tray. Drizzle some of the icing sugar mixture over remaining cronuts.Roughly chop hazelnuts and put some over the chocolate coated cronuts.
12. Serve.

CA and donuts are very popular and loved by everyone and when these two are combined together you get a delicious recipe of cronuts hello and welcome to sanjie kab kazana and to the ultimate baking series with me chefas today I’m going to show you a very delicious recipe of Cronuts so let’s quickly start first I’m going to heat up a pan to which I’m going to add milk and to the milk I’m going to add 2 tbsp of sugar and now in a small bowl I’m going to add 1 and 1/2 teaspoon of fresh yeast I’m going to just slightly break
This up now you see the milk has come to a boil I’m going to shut the gas and then I’m going to add this warm milk to the yeast give this a nice mix once all the yeast have dissolved I’m going to set this aside to activate
For around 1 to 2 minutes now to the remaining milk I’m going to add some butter around 2 tbsp of butter and I’m going to mix this together nicely so that the butter is nicely dissolved next I’m going to take a large bowl in which I’m going to re the refined
Flour so after sifting the refined flour I’m going to make a well in the center so now you see the yeast has activated so this goes into the bowl and then I’m going to add one egg yog with the egg yog I’m going to add some vanilla
Essence and now I’m going to start mixing this with the Whisk and then slowly slowly I’m going to add this milk butter mixture so once this is nicely mixed eventually you have to use your hand and knead this into a soft dough So Once the dough has formed I’m going to lightly dust the work surface with some refined flour I’m going to get the dough out and S this we don’t have to over need this as we are making cronuts not Donuts so we have to layer this with butter several
Times so now the dough is ready I’m going to cover this with a cleint flame and then you need to keep this in the refrigerator for around 20 minutes so now after 20 minutes it’s been resting in the refrigerator I’m going to open this up and then I would dust some
Refined flour on my work table and I’m going to roll this into a thin rectangular sheet And now after rolling this into a thin rectangular sheet I’m going to dust off the refined flour and then over here I have some softened butter now is the time to follow the instruction how we make our C on dough so I’m going to generously apply this over the sheet the butter has
To be at the room temperature so that it is easy to spread now after applying a generous layer of butter I’m going to fold this into a e fold by bringing half of it in the center and then the other half then just press this Lightly and now I’m going to cover this with a clean Flame and then I’m going to put this back again in the refrigerator for around 10 to 15 minutes so now after 10 minutes this dough was resting in the refrigerator now again I’m going to open this again let’s dust some refined F on the work surface and then again I’m going to roll
This out into a thin rectangular Sheet now after again rolling this into a thin rectangle sheet I’m going to apply butter so generous amount of butter again and then again I’m going to repeat the same Fold and now again I’m going to keep this back in the refrigerator for around 10 to 15 minutes I’m going to repeat the same process for around 5 to 6 time till we form many layers and then then we are ready to make our cronuts so after folding the dough several times the
Cronut door is ready and now I’m going to make the cronuts so let’s open this and now I’m going to dust some refined flour on my work surface and then I’m going to roll this out into 1 in thick sheet so after rolling this into a thick
Sheet I’m going to take take a cookie cutter and and cut the sheet into roundles and then again I’m going to take a small cookie cutter and make a hole in Center so now you see after cutting them into a donut shape you can from the side
You can see several layers that we had made with butter and now I’m going to place this on a tray line with parchment Paper and then I’m going to keep this in a warm place for around 10 to 15 minutes until they rise so now as you see after 15 minutes the cronuts have risen and they’ve become double in size at this stage they’re ready to go into the hot
Oil for frying and over here I have also kept oil for deep frying so let’s quickly slide them into the hot oil and now as you see theyve got a nice even golden color on top at this stage I’m going to take them out from the hot
Oil and place them on an absorbent paper and in the similar manner I’m going to fry the rest so now the cronuts are done oh yeah I have melted some chocolate to put on top and also I’m going to make quick sugar icing so for that I’m going to take some icing sugar
With this I’m going to add a drop of vanilla Essence and then with this I’m going to add a little milk and mix all this together Nicely so now the sugar icing is also ready so I’m going to take few cronuts and coat them with melted chocolate so I’m going to just dip this half into the melted chocolate and place it on the parchment paper after that I’m going to place the remaining cronuts or the parchment
Paper and put our sugar icing on Top and now here I have some hazel nuts which I’m going to just roughly chop them And then I’m going to throw this on the Cronuts so here it is cute little cronuts just F if you like the videos that we share on YouTube do subscribe to us on our YouTube channel

You are frying the Cronuts then why you mentioned to pre heat the oven??? Can you bake the same instead of frying???
Can egg be avoided or suggest substitute
What to use instead of egg? Can i use greek full fat yogurt or condensed milk?
