I purchased the Zeppoli towels based on https://www.seriouseats.com/best-kitchen-towels-7372334 from Amazon, and they have been terrible with lint and pilling after just one wash. Can anyone vouch for these? (s it possible I got a counterfeit? I know people hate on Amazon, but I’ve personally never had issues so far.)

Are you washing them with other stuff or by themselves? I could see cheap towels having a lot of lint at first but they shouldn’t be pilling…
I’ve had mine for two years (purchased on January 24, 2022 according to Amazon), and I’ve never run into this issue.
I like [these ones](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/hildegun-dish-towel-blue-80484008/) from Ikea, can’t beat the price, either.
I’ve never had a problem with them. I just put some in the wash.
Had mine for around three years. No such issues
We have 2 batches of them and have no issues over the last 5~ years. We basically only wash them with other towels.
No experience with these towels, but I always recommend the Williams Sonoma dish towels.
Personally, I prefer ATK when it comes to kitchen equipment, supply, and appliance recommendations. They’ve never had a bad rec.
I have them. I beat the crap out of them. I wash them with whatever needs to be washed. Other than being stained, they are great and get the job done. Sounds like a fake.
If they don’t end up working for you, [here’s](https://www.webstaurantstore.com/3331/bar-towels.html?filter=type:kitchen-towels) a whole page of good and cheap kitchen towels to choose from (the kind actually used in professional kitchens).
As always, you want to be careful with Amazon. Sometimes products are really closely named but not correct. If it’s a third party, they can even get away for a while with sending the wrong thing before being removed. Or it could just have been a bad batch or an error.
I’ve bought 3 sets of those towels. The first two have a great texture, absorb water well, and retain their shape. Beautiful. The 3rd and most recent batch are terrible. It’s hard to believe they are made by the same company. They don’t absorb water, they merely smear it around. They have an almost plastic coating tule texture. And they look frumpy, weird lumps and stuff. I have washed them like 50 times and they are barely any better. Not sure how cotton can be so different. I’ve actually been wanting to complain about them and see if anyone has had the same issue.
