How are these Tesco meals so low in kcal? Thes say 83kcal in 100g and the full meal is 290 kcal only.

Ooo I didn’t even know these existed I’m going to go out and get some, also likely substitutes e.g low calorie pasta etc

Hard to say off the top of my head without looking at the ingredients but I’d venture it’s low fat (which the label also says, lol) and probably a more fibrous pasta?

Pure carbs are very little in calories compared to anything else so it’s not hard to get a low overall calorie number so long as you ignore every other macronutrient pretty much

Mushrooms and peppers have negligible calories, so it’s pretty much the pasta itself.

The pack says it’s 350 g, but how much of that is pasta?

What’s the serving size? Make sure it’s the whole thing and not 25% of the package.

Was this nice? I’ve had their calorie-controlled meals before and they’ve been hit and miss, but never had this one.

It’s the ones with rice that get me.

The curry is 293kcal but half the pack is rice, so around 175g.

Basmati rice (cooked) is 270kcal for 175g.

I still lose weight when including these packs, so yeah, it’s just *magic* 🙂
