Seems to be an interesting combinations of additions and concessions.
They’ve adopted the angled form factor of the Micra, along with the curvy steam wand, convertible portafilter, and slightly-less-luxe-feeling paddle/knobs.
Feature wise: it now has a shot timer, auto purge, brew pressure adjustment that’s easier to access, and an updated preinfusion system.

Side note: I imagine we’ll see a sale on the old models pretty soon. The same thing happened in 2019 before the wifi/cool-touch version was released.
Love the new drip tray design but that shot timer ruins the aesthetic for me.
Yikes! That shot timer has me pretty pleased with my existing LMLM! Will definitely be ordering that new drip tray though… very nice!
I’ve had a Micra on order for 4 weeks now (ETA early March) and this news has me at the very least wondering if I should (or even could at this point) cancel and order one of these new Mini’s instead.
There are inherent aspects of the mini I’m not crazy about but they are concessions to having such a compact machine. That said, a lot of these updates are great to see. An auto flush is such a simple, yet wonderful thing. Soft preinfusion? Finally! I wish they would finally do something for the GS3. I hope most of these updates are offered on previous machines, at least via their certified technicians.
It’s one of the things main things I love about Decent and why I will likely always have one in my home. Nearly every hardware update can be installed on previous iterations (the only one that isn’t is being able to slide the tablet out quickly and easily), most things come via software. There’s also an open dialogue about what’s in the pipeline. People can choose to wait if they want
With the new tray, does that mean you can embed the acaia scale in it without mods?
Does it have real preinfusion? Or is it “blast the puck at 9 bar briefly” type preinfusion?

Nice upgrades but not seeing anything compelling.
The shot timer feels like an afterthought. The placement of the screen is so awkward.
Non starter for me but would be even if I was in the market. I am very happy with my Micra.
The shot timer placement is a joke and looks terrible. Could have put facing up on the paddle part. FWIW I don’t have any issues with my Lunar on the Micra bottomless.
The decent looks better than this thing.
