It’s comeback time on Master Chef we’re looking  for a great amate cook who can make it as a   professional someone who can turn out exceptional  food I’m going to really enjoy having another   crack here I’m going to do everything that  I can this is one tough competition I’m back  

And I really really want this whoever wins it’ll  change their life cooking doesn’t get tougher than this last series these three contestants didn’t  quite make the grade but now they’re back for   one more go at the Master Chef title I wouldn’t  be back and put myself through it all again if  

I didn’t want it that much so bring it on I’ve  got unfinished business from last year so I’m   I’m I’m back and ready to compete there isn’t  added pressure in so much as yes this is the  

Last chance you got to take the opportunity and  go for it they face two tough challenges they   have to impress the judges with their best two  course meal it’s absolutely bang on but first   it’s the endurance test they have to prove  they have the essential stamina and skill to  

Survive Life as a professional chef by cooking in  service for 18 hours quickly Che I doubt [Music] it it’s 5:30 a.m. and the contestants begin   their 18-hour shift last year Andy  showed a talent for Southeast Asian cookery that fish is delicious well that  kisses me but sometimes he attempted too  

Much and ran out of time the pastry is still  bit Raw and it gets caught in your teeth I’m   back on my chef because I don’t think I did  myself Justice last year I’m determined to   give it another [Music] crack civil servant  Lucy made extremely flavorsome dishes your  

Flavors your textures perfect but her inability  to make them look as good as they tasted let her   down it’s looking a bit shabby I’m sorry to say  I think you can cook it’s just about refinement   Lucy last time my presentation let me down  now I am cooking much more to a restaurant

Standard horse groom James’s tea smoked salmon  showed a real talent for experimental cookery   that’s filled me with joy that has that’s  marvelous beautiful really beautiful but   his Plum and mashed potato combination went  a little too far it’s an alien landed on your  

Plate it has no right to be there whatsoever  [Music] I got to the quarterfinals last time   to be able to improve upon that and go further  unbelievable we have three am Cooks who have   had one year to practice and hone their skills  this now is their last chance for the first part  

Of their endurance test all three contestants  will have to cook during a very busy breakfast   service at beastro 190 at the gore hotel in  London Under head chef tahar DB busy but 95   but let’s go people think breakfast is easy it’s  not and it’s because of the humble egg is it post  

Is it fried isn’t scrambled isn’t an envelope  whichever way it might be it is a tough geig   who can focus who’s got the skill who will fit  in to a professional team like a cog in a well  

Oiled machine it’s 700 a.m. and the first diners  arrive pancake in 2 minutes please Chef horse Grom   James is in in charge of pancakes french toast  and scrambled eggs cooking them one by one I’m   pretty happy doing it in volume all at once we  shall see James James these pancakes they’re a  

Bit messy don’t want that one right but his first  pancakes are not up to standard and neither is his   presentation where’s your where’s your style Chef  make it look nice you’re going to have to use a  

New plate on this okay guys guys check on one  mushroom omelette yes sir let’s go guest in a   hurry Lucy is making omelets which can be filled  with any ingredient on the breakfast menu I think  

It’s going to be a busy service but uh that’s a  good thing don’t stir that anymore no that’s ready   for your ingredients to go in just mushrooms  yep you going to saate them first yes but she   forgets to precook the mushrooms start that omet  again please and starts to fall behind today

Please in the rush she makes a very  painful mistake I you grabbed hold   of a hot pan without heing my cloth rookie mistake a her burnt hand needs attention and  she’s taken off her Section K can you cover  

Please always use a cloth always always this  could threaten her whole day Andy is in charge   of the poached egg dishes eggs Benedict eggs  florentine and eggs Royale I want perfectly   Poached Eggs nice tear shape okay yeah a little  bit nervous it’s not going to be a walk in the  

Park I want one Benedict one Florentine one  Benedict his dishes are proving very popular   how long 30 [Music] seconds however customers  have to wait as he has to recook egg that one’s   overcooked after egg that one’s no good after  egg they’re not a nice shape Chef I said tears  

Do some more please okay let’s go on that in 2  minutes please you have to do these eggs again   you got the easiest section out of the three you  should be giving me perfect eggs every time the  

Chef’s got high standards so this it is quite  tough service with the orders backing up and   the restaurant full I need those scrambled eggs  please 2 minutes Chef the pressure is mounting   with no two orders the same James struggles to  cope I just need those scrambled eggs quickly  

One minute Chef I doubt it I need the French  toast everything else is on the past James I   haven’t done it yet now please coming up  chip do you want to go home James no Chef   sure yes chef just scrambled eggs and smoked  salmon all over the shop EG Benedict and the

Omelets guys it’s taking way too long can  you speed up please yes chef with James   and Andy stretch to the Limit Lucy bravely  decides to get back on her Section this is   a set back but I’m going to keep pushing  on and and just keep working as hard as  

I can with one hand down she’s determined to  make up for lost time P4 omelet nice omelet   nice omelette nice omelette thank you Chef  I’m hot and I’m pain but I’m getting there   service Andy’s Focus has also kicked in Chef  he much better yeah thank just wish they’d all  

Been like that service and with service  nearly over under Lucy’s lead all three   contestants are working as a team how long  on the pancakes ready and 30 okay eggs out 2 minutes service over thank you very much what did  Lucy have to do today Lucy we put on the omelet  

Section first pan she touched she burnt her  hand quite badly but she got back in it which   is I thought was quite Brave she did well she G  after her she’s good obviously I injured myself  

Which made it extra hard but I I think I H my  own what about Andy how did Andy get on Andy   couldn’t seem to get the Knack of tearing the  Poached Eggs I think to serve 10 eggs we may  

Have cooked at least 30 I don’t think a star  today but I you know I tried really hard and   I Tred to learn from my mistakes tell me about  James he was quite manic bit chaotic all around  

The kitchen running around like he didn’t know  what was going on I was like de God what what   have you done to me it wasn’t the smoothest by  a long shot but it was a buzz if you’re going  

To have one of these work with you again who  would it be and why I would have Lucy quick   energetic even with the burn hand she was  still making less mistakes than than Andy was our three contestants are not even  halfway through their grueling day with  

Straight to another professional kitchen  and a busy nighttime service an afd all   flipp and day they will test their cookery  skill undoubtedly but also their endurance   it’s 8 hours into the day and the contestants  arrive at the Mandarin Oriental one of London’s  

Most exclusive hotels and head chef Chris  tombling has standards to match tonight   we’ve got a brand new part of the restaurant  opening the uh Park Terrace and it’s fully   booked so we’ better get moving right now  let’s go the contestants will be cooking  

For the grand opening of the hotel’s Terrace so  the pressure to produce full fault-free food is immense but before they start cooking they have   to design and prep their own  dishes from the restaurant’s ladder in an establishment such as this with the  standards as high as they are I think this is an  

Extremely tough call horse Grom James decides  to go with a Moroccan themed dish he’s cooking   a spiced duck with couscous and an orange sauce  and after this morning’s performance he really   needs to [Music] impress now your dish tonight  yeah everything depends on your dish tonight and  

You’re hitting marcket this may be my downfall  but it is sort of a nice Summer’s evening out   there I figured it would be a nice summery dish  to do how much stamina do you need do you think  

To get through tonight the moment good to go the  idea Moroccan spice du it’s food of the moment   it’s going to really s it’s going to be tough for  him really tough after a great breakfast service  

Lucy’s chosen to cook Chicken Kebabs with beans  and a butter sauce with a busy 8 hours ahead will   she cope with one burned hand Lucy what have you  got now do you think that you didn’t have before  

I’m a lot more confident than I was last year um  a l a lot more practiced than I was last year and   um I think that will show you got a lot to do and  hopefully no more injuries fingers crossed yeah  

Well crossed or or burnt good luck Lucy thank you  very much Lucy’s dish is complex there’s many many   parts to it and with one hand down she is going to  struggle I think after Andy’s disastrous Poached  

Eggs he’s chosen a dish he hopes he can manage  in a busy service seab bass In tha broth with   bok choy Andy how you doing mate really looking  forward to service but nervous apprehension do  

You think you’ve got what it takes takes this time  I don’t think I could the food that I really love   that I eat every day and um I’m determined to come  back and do that for you guys and I hope that that  

Will you know I hope that that will be enough to  take me all the way sea bass Thai flavored broth   it’s sounds fresh it sounds delicious but John he  lost his head over 10 Poached Eggs I mean what’s  

It going to be like when those tickets start  mcing up 13 hours after they started work the   contestants must now Focus they have a busy dinner  service it’s about to hit them they are going to  

Need every single ounce of stamina all right guys  we’re ready to rock and roll got the first check   here of the evening one SE bus Andy is first to  get an order let’s have that Seabass Andy coming  

Chef he needs to make sure the Seabass is cooked  perfectly Al skin is a nice and crispy yeah it’s   crispy his first plate comes up on time but will  it impress chef okay that’s good very nice i’ done  

One order now it went quite well it’s all good  I think I’m doing all right with the terrorist   filling up James’s gamble on a Moroccan dish  also seems to be paying off Main Course three   duck yes one duck one duck one duck ship let’s  go for it now he’s inundated with [Music] orders  

Right we should have three duck I’ve got one  in the oven two in the P JS we keep knowing   this check the skin it’s starting over cook like  this morning under the sheer volume of tickets he  

Starts to wilt see bass is going cold now we’re  waiting on the duck come on gems let’s keep it together the hardest part at the moment is just  the share volume of orders all at once across   the kitchen Lucy’s Chicken Kebabs have not been  selling well okay New Order two chicken yes sir  

We got starters on that so I’ll let you know when  to start and in her eagerness to get the first   order out she makes a basic mistake right what’s  going on here it’s not away yet you’ve got the  

Spinach cooked sauce’s boiling put that spinach  in the bin and the sauce slow down a little bit she’s forced to start again will she  impress with her second attempt where’s the   chicken please 2 seconds Chef Chicken  Chef watch the sauce please slightly

Split it’s halfway through service the Terrace  is packed and the orders are flying in 1 2 3   4 5 James is swamped got seven more Ducks today  he’s been on his feet for almost 16 hours can he  

Focus and prove he can cope with the pace of the  kitchen a popular dish this evening it’s all about improving it’s like making Sun castles isn’t it  and when pushed to the Limit he starts to thrive   this is so much better than this morning okay  that’s looking good it’s working lovely that’s  

The best duck I’ve seen all night enjoy  thank you very much two chicken skewers   how long 2 minutes sh 2 minutes okay please come  on after her shaky start Lucy now needs to focus   there was a slow start to begin with but they  they’re coming thick and fast two more chicken  

After that yeah yes chef but with an injured  hand and the orders piling up she can’t keep   Pace thought you said 2 minutes sorry Chef I’ve  got all the other food ready and I’m waiting on   two chicken that’s coming Chef do I need to tell  her restaurant manager that as well it’s coming  

Hold long she’s holding up service Lucy let’s  have it on you please shame it took you half an hour unlike Lucy Andy’s kept up with the  pace all night on see on the par Chef his   cleverly designed dish has paid off and he  consistently turns out excellent plates of  

Food that looks fantastic the last one of  the night looks like the best one I’d have   that on the menu all right no problem  thank you well done cheers fantastic job right that’s it guys we’re all finished for  one more night let’s get cleaned up properly  

And let’s get out of here 18 hours after they  started the endurance test is over it’s now   down to headchef Chris to give his verdict Andy  was very composed quite well organized he put a   good deal of thought it was dish so he wouldn’t  have too much to do during service Lucy’s dish  

Didn’t really sell too well well I thought she  was very nervous she was trying to cook a little   bit too much in advance we had to pull the food  off and start again James’s dish sold the most  

He’s under a lot of pressure I thought he was  going to crack but he pulled it back together   and he he did very well for me he was the best  today I’d have him in the kitchen tomorrow

[Music] it’s early morning on day two and the  contestants arrive at Master Chef HQ for the   final [Music] test I’m going to do everything  that I can to not let this opportunity slip by   I think the opposition is really tough I think  it’s going to be a very tight race at this stage  

I think anyone could win it everyone’s has  been on once already they’ve learned a lot   from The Experience they’re bringing that back but  I hope that I’ll be good enough to P them to the [Music] post we know you gave it all yesterday  can you prove it again today ladies and gentlemen  

You know the rules your two courses we’ve got  one quarterfinal place and you’ve got 1 hour   to cook it in ladies and gentlemen let’s [Music]  cook the contestants have one hour to prove they   can now deliver their own two courses to the  highest [Music] level after a great performance  

During dinner service James is confident he can  deliver an adventurous menu of seared tuna with   apricot and tomato salsa followed by a pistachio  and olive oil tort with rose and orange flower   water cream you know where you slipped up last  year do you think I obviously did the best I  

Could last year and all I can do this year is  do the same and hope that that’s going to be   enough to get me [Music] through if he can balance  those big flavors I think that food will blow us away time flies when you’re having  fun you have had 20 minutes [Music]  

Andy hopes to make up for a bad breakfast  service by delivering two very challenging dishes Andy youve got a serious array of  ingredients upon your bench I have indeed I’m   doing a starter of red mullet and obene and then  a squad pigeon ravioli with wild mushrooms and a  

Rosemary sauce wow yeah lot to do so how good a  cook Andy are you now do you think I think I’m   very different cook than I was last last year um  I think I’m I’m a lot better I’ve been very self  

Self-critical over the last year so I think that’s  really improved the way I cook how far do you   think you can go this time around I think I’ve got  every chance Andy has given himself a huge amount  

Of work I’ll be amazed if he finishes on time  amazed you’ve got just 15 minutes [Music] left   Lucy’s poor dinner service means she now  needs to prove she’s worthy of the qu final Place Tell Me Lucy what are your two dishes  today sish of SE bass and lamb on griddled  

Oines with spice lentils how do you think  you’re different from last year I think last   year my presentation let me down hugely and it’s  something I’ve really focused on I’ve gone from   being a good home cook to cooking proper grownup  restaurant food I love the Precision of Lucy’s  

Food but she’ll have to get presentation  absolutely right you have only got five minutes just 2 minutes that’s it stop stop stop finished time’s up Andy’s first course is red mullet served with  baby OB jein obene puree black olives and micro herbs you get the sharpness of  the Olive and sweetness of the  

Tomato garlic coming through the oine and  that fish is cooked to Perfection I like it it is Rich it is complicated it  is big big on Flavor I think it’s a   very very good dish Andy thank  you will his man of pigeon and  

Truffle ravioli wild mushrooms  and a rosemary sauce be as good there’s hints of Pepper running all  through it almost sweetness of that   pigeon inside the pasture is as light  as a feather the mushrooms are bursting   with flavor nicely seasoned mate that is uh  that is cooking of the first order thank you

Co those little Parcels of loveliness  full of truffle and pigeon Andy that   is Tip Top it’s a long way from a bad  poach eger that I’ve given myself a hell   of a lot of work and I’ve just about  pulled it off today I hope I’ve done

Enough Lucy hopes to prove she’s fixed  her mistakes from last year with a Ceviche   of Seabass in a tequila and lime marinade  with capers girkins and chili it just looks great there’s this wonderful sort of sound that  comes with the Brine and those Capers there’s the  

Wonderful soless of the girkin and the fish  is still there in texture and in taste it is beautiful it’s elegant in its appearance it’s  elegant on the pallet it’s lovely good food   Lucy can her Mane of lamb on griddled  oine with spiced lentils get a similar

Response you do get that lovely  perfectly cooked piece of lamb you   get the wonderful oine which is Smoky  and delicious but being grilled but   those lentils need a little bit more  spice just to bring them up one more

Level you get hit with lovely sweet beautiful  land but the lentils don’t match the same power   of flavor have you done enough do you  think hope so I really hope so it mean   it means so much to me James’s adventurous  menu starts with seared loin of tuna with  

A nut and Seed crust apricot and tomato  salsa with a chamula dressing and spicy flatbreads what I’ve gotten my mouth is  soft tuna sesame seeds fruit from the   apricot and that little flatbread actually has  a huge punch to it with spicing I think it’s

Extraordinary there is a lot going  on for my pet to contend with yeah   but not unpleasant yeah to finish  he’s cooked a pistachio and olive   oil tort with a rose and orange  flour water cream and pan roasted strawberries texturally it’s  beautiful it’s really well made  

It’s well thought out it’s balanced  it’s absolutely bang on thank you you know I’m a man with a sweet tooth and  I think that is truly truly delicious thank   you do you think you’ve done enough today James  reasonably happy but I’m here to improve I’m here  

To get better you three have made this judging  for Greg and I very very tough indeed off you go it is Master Chef and it is comeback week and  I’ve got to say Mr Wallace today I am simply Blown  

Away some of this food is worthy of a final Andy  yesterday didn’t do very well for breakfast but   night service he came back and Chef was fairly  impressed today the work that went into Andy   starter was extraordinary every single part just  balanced absolutely beautifully and then of course  

The work that goes into that main course Woody  earthy mushrooms beautiful soft pasta I tell   you what that is seriously good food you know I  couldn’t guess the result right now but I hope   I’ve done enough yesterday morning Lucy burned  herself it was a tough gig for her but she got  

Through it a great cook John that Lucy is just  a terrific cook and that sish was I think that   might be the best sish dis I’ve tasted I’d pay  money for it in a restaurant and be very very  

Happy indeed her main course beautiful cook lamb  tender sweet but the lentils needed more spice   yeah I agree the starter for me was wow wow wow  and her main course just wasn’t quite there it  

Would mean everything to me to go through and I  wouldn’t be as nervous and as emotional as I have   been if it didn’t mean this much to me should we  talk about James yesterday in the kitchen he let  

Himself down but actually the chef quite liked  what he did cuz he really pulled it together did   a great job I think James’s food is fascinating  I mean that main course to be a to balance those  

Flavors it’s fascinating in food John but I didn’t  love that main course anywhere near as much as   as as the pudding because dessert was absolutely  extraordinary soft pistachio cake orange running   through it it was anxious and delicious and it  looked fantastic the past two days have just  

Been an absolute buzz and I just really now want  to carry that on continue and take it all the way   we’ve got to pick one of these and uh whichever  one of these we pick is a hot Contender for the Title our [Music] winner our quarterfinalist is Andy congratulations yeah naturally I’m disappointed but I have done  the best that I could do to come back and be   given a second chance has been fantastic and I’ve  done myself Justice and that’s what I wanted to

Do yeah I’m over the moon you know this is what  I came here for I didn’t come here for anything   less this is just one step on the journey but  I’m happy Andy will be back for the quarter final  

Next time three new comeback contestants will  battle it out for the title of Master [Music] [Music] Chef

  2. Very good looking food in this finale and I’d want to taste all of it. I’ll have ceviche, the ravioli, then it’s good that the last dish there is a tasty dessert. Not 💯 % in agreement on the winner, we’ll see ..
