Re-downloading Loseit to be more accountable, and they have different levels of difficulty, the “vigorous” option is 856 calories per day.

I’m 5’2” and 38 years old, 142 lbs. I really don’t even see why they list this as an option, even if they say “not recommended” in red letters.

For heavier/taller people, losing 2 lbs a week is perfectly fine. I’m pretty sure their software just calculates the cals needed to lose 0.5-2 lbs per week and displays everything. I think it /did/ used to never allow going below a certain daily amount of calories so I’m guessing this was eventually changed/updated for some reason.

That’s wild. That said, my “vigorous” option is more than 1200 cal per day, so it’s not like the vigorous option is bad across the board, it just needs to not be offered at a certain threshold maybe.

The exact numbers are based on your height and weight, so check that you’ve entered your information correctly. Additionally while the app will allow you to select aggressive plans it does attempt to intervene. The app recently recommended that I increase my calorie budget as much as my daily average was too low.
