Hi! So I forgot we had this kimchi at home and hate throwing food away. It has been safe from sunlight inside a cabinet but not in the fridge. The best before date was in September 2023. Is it still safe to it? [Here’s some photos of the product and the info on it.](https://imgur.com/a/HbNgVd0)

Open it and if it looks and smells safe, Id eat it. But foreigners think kimchi looks and smells funky to begin with, so you may not be equipped to judge it properly. A Korean would know.

It’s fine. If it’s super sour, stir fry or make soup with it. Unless u see mold, its gucci

Won’t be as fresh or at its “best” but the fact that it’s preserved and unopened could indicate safe for consumption. Good luck lol.

Canned kimchi is pasteurized so it should be safe.

I would only use it for soup though.

Move it around, see if you can find any mould. I have kimchi that’s long since passed its expiration date and it’s still fine. I’ll be using it for soups and stir fries.
