I’m a 19 year old guy and started my weight loss journey in late November 2023 after seeing my cholesterol had shot up on my blood tests. First I started by just cutting out my huge amount of high calorie snacks and then I began reducing my portion sizes. A few weeks ago I began counting calories and have been between a 1450-1650 daily intake. I didn’t take progress photos at the start of my journey because I struggled taking photos of my baggy clothed body, let alone tight clothes or shirtless so the only photo I have from my highest weight is this one full body photo and one of a few headshots.

People are right when they say you don’t tend to notice the weight loss until you see the two photos side by side. I think the change in my face is the most noticeable. I’m kind of proud of how far I’ve come and this only motivates me to keep on going until I reach my goal.

But this first 13kg is huge for me. I’ve now moved from the obese BMI category to just overweight and though I’ve had some harder days, I’ve found the adjustment to a new diet surprisingly easy? In fact, I’m struggling to meet my full calorie allowance most days without feeling too full.

Hopefully I can get the courage to take some better before photos for my next comparison in a few months. We’ll see!
