Got this as a gift but I’m paranoid about using since eating concrete doesn’t appeal to me. I haven’t seasoned it yet, just wanted to confirm it’s real before I spend the time and energy to do so.
I’ve done the water test on the uncured molcajete and it held onto a vast majority of the water after 25-30 minutes, and I don’t have a sense of smell so I can’t do that test. Is there any way I can be 100% positive?

it looks good, it’s a little hard to tell but those black dots are simply different color stone, not air bubbles right? It looks like a dark gray granite or other igneous stone.
Have you seasoned it by grinding in rice yet?
