When I moved to Denver, I first heard about hatch chiles, tried them on burritos and stuff and I was hooked. I then heard about a burger with these awesome chiles up in it, and I was hooked further.

My grandma made some incredible Juicy Lucy burgers. They looked dumpy but tasted like… well, if you could taste a warm hug and then suddenly it starts raining salt, pepper, and onions… well, it would taste like that. Saying it tasted good is just not enough. I’m not sure how she cooked them, but I would assume that’s what burgers tasted like, back in the day where you can buy a burger bigger than your mouth for 50 cents.
