Austin has been in dire need of some really good hotpot spots and more KBBQ is nice as well and so when I heard we had a joint restaurant doing both – I was excited to check them out.
I’ll start off with the good:
– Price: not too bad for All You Can Eat coming in at $30.99 for EITHER option or +$5 ($35.99) for both options.
– Variety: lots of meat, seafood, and veggie options as well as 8 different soup bases
The not-so-good:
– Taste: it’s all you can eat, I get that, it’s not gonna be USDA Prime and Wagyu, but some of the cuts just didn’t do it for me. Especially the squid and shrimp which just had weird textures.
To me it’s one of the spots I’m glad I checked out once, but don’t have any intention to come again. For a similar price point, I would just suggest you go to Gangnam Korean BBQ instead for their entry level AYCE pricing of $39.99 which I felt tasted significantly better.

My wife and I have been twice, once with friends, and loved it both times
my biggest complaint with KPot and Gangnam is their “food waste” policy – trying to be conscious of not over-ordering, but then they bring out these huge portions of food. I wish they offered small plates.
Agreed. Meat quality is not good, but for the price can’t complain much. The hot bar is bad. Last time I was there the fried chicken wings look so bad. The dessert cup thing tastes like chemical.
Service is hit or miss. Waitress is nice but she’s not the one bring us the food. I ordered lettuce 3 times and I got none. When I left I saw 2 orders of lettuce on the other table.

I loved it. Been 3 times since they opened. I live in south austin so it is a great location. Gangnam is south also but they fell off HARD quickly.
Plus i love i can get decent schezuan now without having to go 40 min north
It’s not the best of both worlds, it’s just both worlds. But it’s not a bad value, if you’re really hungry and love either or both cuisines.
The seafood was notttttt it. It was all frozen. Service was also pretty bad. I was hoping for more but the quality was not great tbh. 😭😭😭
Soup leaf hot pot is my fav spot atm
It’s alright and you get what you pay for. Solid 3/5 for me. One of the lower end KBBQ spots I’ve ever been to and I’ve lived in California my whole life. How can a KBBQ spot not offer Ban Chan? It’s a requirement for any KBBQ spot. Will I come back here? Hell yeah, especially for $20.99 lunch
It’s ok. The quality of meat is pretty low, and for some annoying reason the booth seats are not screwed down so when someone siys behind you…your seat moves.
Be cautious of the Korean bbq place KBBQ over on airport where 99 ranch is. We were having a great meal till a cockroach came up on our table asking if we could share.
I’m a HUGE Eater! And a big fan of any AYCE! I’m going to have to try this one
