How to Poach Eggs For Beginners | Food Network

Egg poaching takes practice because you want to gently simmer and not boil but with these easy steps you’ll get the hang of it in no time use a non-stick skillet and bring about 2 inches of water to a boil next add a little vinegar this keeps the whites from spreading too thin

It also adds a little seasoning then reduce to a simmer get some small bowls ready for your eggs this way the eggs will keep their shape and you’ll be able to cook them all at the same time crack them carefully and check for bits of shell now slip the eggs into the water

Clockwise like this that’s so you know which ones are done first Cover turn off the heat the key to poaching is a gentle heat which will give your eggs a firm white and a loose yolk and in just four minutes you’ll have delicious delicate poached eggs all that’s left to do is scoop it out drain and enjoy

  1. Now i have made eggs before, pretty easy. But i have never tried this, and tbh looks easy enough so i will def try

Edit: im never making eggs the same way again lmao

  2. I just use a Teflon egg poaching pan. Heat the water, add one to four eggs to the pan, cover. Keep the water on an almost boil and three minutes and you are done. No dishes or utensils just nice perfect poached eggs.

  3. Harder to do than I would have imagined. Two different French restaurants. Two visits to the emergency room.

  4. It wasn’t clear how much vinegar was used, the shot was from above. Is it a tablespoon worth or more than that?

  5. I tried to make poached eggs today and i failed….i got so mad…. but now i know.

  6. I like to spin a vortex in the water before poaching a single egg.
It helps the egg keep its shape

  7. This video showed no vortex swirling of the water before putting the eggs in the water. I'm confused reading the comments that say to swirl the water first. 🤔

  8. always been afraid to try poached eggs. After more failures in the microwave then I can count I finally tried this and its was PERFECT the FIRST time! SO EASY! Now I can enjoy them all the time THANK YOU!

  9. You would have to shoot me before I eat that Crap. Anyone that eats runny eggs is the anti Christ. 🤷🏽‍♂️😊

  10. My fool-proof way of poaching eggs is cracking them into my instant noodles 3-4 minutes before they finished cooking. Just make a little space for the egg, crack it in (straight from the fridge) and don't move it until it's finished. I let them cool down a bit before eating them, I think it helps set the whites. This method only lets me eat poached eggs when I'm eating ramen but oh well, at least there's no skill involved
