I recently purchased the built in Napoleon Prestige 500 (propane), but for the life of me can’t figure out how to connect to my propane tank.

The grill came with the metal hose connected, and included the brass adaptor piece, but DID NOT come with a propane regulator. I found a regulator at Home Depot with same WC pressure (11”), but when I brought it home I realized I have no way to connect it to the metal hose (without adaptor it is female to female, with the adaptor it is too large).

What am I doing wrong?? I’ve never had this much of an issue with a grill before and their manual is useless.

Are you sure they didn’t give you the gas version? Any propane one I have bought comes with the regulator and hose. I have never bought a built in though.

The manual is usually pretty specific on this situation

Remove the silver hose from your grill and connect the propane hose to the grill using some EZ-FLO Gas Teflon Tape. If the propane hose it too short either relocate the tank or purchase a longer hose. Longer hoses and conversion kits can be found online.

That’s a connection for natural gas. The orifices need to be changed for propane.

Regardless of what you bought, you got the natural gas version.

You bought the natural gas version vs propane

Did you buy this already built? The online owners manual implies that the propane version comes with a regulator. The natural gas version is supposed to come with a line complete with a quick disconnect which you do not have. I think you are missing some parts. because of the lack of regulator i will agree with others that this is the natural gas version.

What is the model number? I’ve fitted a couple of these grills in our show room.

Is that not a propane hose with regulator in the third photo?

I had this same issue and it was a natural gas grill. Ended up trading it for a Napoleon propane one and that came with the correct hookup for the tank.

You can email them grills@napoleon.com with your serial number and then can confirm for you what kind of grill you have

  11. I just received the natural gas version from the same place and that is exactly what mine looks like. Hooked right up to my natural gas line.

Connect you stainless steel hose to the end of a regular propane hose that goes into your tank.

Built in propane? Talk about giving up at the goal line lol

Go to a real hardware store, not Home Depot, and ask for help if you’re out of your depth. Bring the hoses with you to the store and make sure everything fits up nicely. You just need a reducer and a coupling or two. If you don’t have a good hardware store, a welding supply will have what you need as well.
