Ok all..I need a sanity check here. These are amazing but having trouble believing 10oz (large package – container comes completely full) of essentially falafel comes out to 140 cals for the whole thing (70 cals for 1 serving). Not complaining but am I missing something??? Chickpeas are pretty calorie sense and there are easily 12-14 nuggets in the package.

Normally I just trust labels, but this seems very off. There’s added oil but it doesn’t even look like they added that to the nutrition facts

Hmm main ingredient is chickpeas so maybe as a check weight a portion and cross reference to what that same weight in chickpeas is calorically

  3. A lot of oasis products are super low cal, I’m not sure if it’s legit or not, but their low cal hummus tastes pretty watered down and doesn’t have oil, so I believe it. No idea about this product though, sorry. I’m guessing the oil is a pretty small amount since it’s listed after onion and garlic, which usually aren’t used in huge quantities.

Like one of the other users said, this brand has other snack items that for sure have in accurate calorie counts, they’re way too low for what they are, so I wouldn’t trust this product from them either

It is possible. The ingredient list contains a lot of low calorie watery non-starchy vegtables. As a home cook, I’d guess there is just enough ground legumes to have the fritters hold their shape. Additionally, this dish is probably baked; rather than deep fried.

  6. Definitely possible. The quorn crispy nuggets are 36 kcal each

Idk going off my eyes, prior knowledge and ingredients id say the whole thing looks like it would be 400 calories

Id call them. You’re right about the chickpeas. Id say 300 total

you can add up calories based off macros: 4 cal/g of protein and carbs, 9 cal/g of fat. so for this, mathematically the calorie count is 90 cals per serving (2g fat = 18 cals, 12g carbs = 48 cals, 6g protein = 24 cals; 18 + 48 + 24 = 90 calories total).

I think that number actually means there is a 70% chance you will like them. And probably a 30% chance you will not.
