Hi All, I forgot to clean my stainless steel grill from the last time I used it a few months ago. Found it with rust and pitting and some weird green stuff growing on it(copper)?
I did my best to clean it with bar keepers friend and have noticed the pitting and corroded parts are still there. What else can I do? Or is this safe and good enough to use?

My friend, fire will save you! Grease, flame stains will become your friend! If your meat is grilled at a proper temperate, no grease, discoloration will ever impede great taste. Grill, heat, scrape and allow the gas or burning embers to season your next cook! Mine are black like coal. Scrape, season grill! Clean grates are for people that don’t grill! Be well kind Sir! B

Imo, there are lots of quality SS grills available aftermarket for most grill sizes & I’d change it considering the rusting SS is going to even flake off at times. No need to risk ingesting SS related metals.

Not really any stainless is actually stainless under grilling temps. Just clean and fire will do the rest.

Get the heat on, scrunch a ball of tin foil, rub. Home run lad.
