Used degreaser to remove most of the lumpy stuck on mess but this doesn’t come off. I used soapy water and a paper towel and it’s doing very good but want to speed this up. Any good chemicals or sponge that would do a better job?

I’d get a plastic paint scraper and see if it helps knock anymore crud off, otherwise fire up the btus and cook off the chemicals.
I love BKF for the exterior

lol that is not a very dirty grill. Just some grill spray and a brush.

Use lye, I’ve had the best luck with Sam’s club grill cleaner, just spray it let is sit for 5 mins then use a brush and some water and you’ll be amazed how quickly grime and grease comes off. I did my Weber Q 2xs and it looked like it was brand new

I was given a neglected Weber spirit that was quite caked up inside. I got the liquid grease wiped out and then just ran that sucker as hot as it would go until it stopped smoking. Let it cool off and then almost all of what was left brushed or scraped off really easily.
