The garlic powder in the dough and the sesame seed topping makes these breadsticks stand out. They’re definitely a crowd pleaser.

Welcome back to Anderson Acres we’re here in the kitchen again and tonight we are going to make breadsticks specifically we’re going to make um an Italian Sesame breadstick all right so to do that we just have a very simple recipe to start with so what
We’re going to do is we’re going to make it in the bread maker now of course you can still do this with your mixer or you can do it by hand however you like to make your bread dough make your bread dough but I’m going to use my bread
Maker which will mix need and handle the first rise for me so I don’t have to do any of that manually short on time and frankly I usually use the bread maker so let’s get started what are our ingredients you’re going to want one cup of water
Lukewarm is best you don’t want hot you don’t want cold you’re going to want about a tablespoon of butter I do recommend butter in this recipe just because it makes for a really nice rich breadstick you are going to want one teaspoon of salt any salt you’ve got is fine I’m
Using a table salt but a kosher or a Himalayan it doesn’t matter one tablespoon of sugar yes I use sugar in my breads it helps speed up the rising process if you skip the sugar you do have to remember that you’re going to lengthen your rise time
But it’s so little sugar you don’t taste it it’s not a sweet bread you want one teaspoon of garlic powder that’s a coarse garlic powder you can do a fine garlic powder it doesn’t really matter and we’re gonna do three cups of just your regular bread flour or your
All-purpose flour whatever you normally use in bread is what you’re going to use here and our final ingredient is our yeast I am doing one heaping teaspoon of bread machine yeast now we’re going to pop that in the bread maker we’ll come back in about an hour and a half and I’ll
Show you what to do next all right our bread dough is finished so now what we want to do we want to be able to cut it and then transfer it to our baking sheet so I’m using a liner I’ve always used my copper liner you’ve
Seen it in many videos if you’ve watched my baking videos so what I want to do is take my dough and stretch it and you want it as big a rectangle as you can pull off okay obviously within the confines of your liner or your piece of wax paper or whatever you’re using
Okay so you can totally grab a rolling pin but before you use the rolling pin try to get it and like the correct shape basically okay so you want it kind of rectangular already and then you can grab a rolling pin and just start rolling so you want to roll it up
And you want to roll it down and side to side you want to go maybe 3 8 of an inch thick with the rolling pin and then you’re going to continue to stretch it by hand so then we’re just going to continue to go up and to the corners
Okay what you want is it for to not contract on you so we’re gonna do is just stretch it pull it we just want basically a good a good rectangle nice big rectangle okay you don’t have to go all the way to your edges but it’s good
To kind of get there so you don’t have to go all the way but like that’s about good now what we’re going to do is we’re actually just going to let this sit for oh about 15 minutes we’re not going to touch it we’re just going to leave it alone while we’re
Leaving it alone you might want to preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit we’ll be back in about 15 minutes or so all right our dough has been sitting it is now relaxed so now we have to turn it into breadsticks because that’s not breadsticks so to do our Sesame
Breadsticks our Italian Sesame breadsticks you’re going to need an egg so just take that egg and kind of just Smash It Up with a basting brush it doesn’t have to be perfect Smash It Up with a basting brush now you’re going to coat this entire thing in egg
Okay you don’t have to get like super crazy but you do want it covered okay you do want it covered up with egg remember this is a nice garlicky dough so it will have a lot of really yum flavor okay you’re not going to use your whole leg probably
So now you’re going to take some sesame seeds and you’re just going to cover the thing in sesame seeds I’m going to make sure I’m using my shaking end okay cover that up in sesame seeds be generous or not so generous if you don’t like sesame seeds that much but really this
Needs sesame seeds there we go now we have to make it into breadsticks because this is still not a breadstick so we’re gonna do is we’re going to take this and just keep dividing our sections in half because we want them fairly thin okay one more time dividing in half
And then we’re going to divide in half this way those are our breadsticks so what you’re going to do you’re going to take this entire thing and slide it onto a pan I usually do that just by lifting it up Push It Forward lift it up just pull
Okay just like that and now you are ready to bake them now you’re going to bake your breadsticks for about 20 to 25 minutes depending on how dark you want them don’t separate them before you bake all right so we’re going to bake these at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25
Minutes let them get as dark as you like but don’t go past 25 minutes here are Italian Sesame breadsticks they are fantastic and to eat them you just pull one off the edge and enjoy they are fun they’re easy to make and they really go over well with most crowds so I hope
You enjoyed making these Italian Sesame breadsticks with us here today do try it at home you’re sure to enjoy them we’ll see you tomorrow
