What I do is I leave an area with no coals, or burner off, so when that happens, you can move the burgers to the side without flames. Close the lid, flames will die out, but burgers will continue to cook.

You’ll figure it out. Use the side that isn’t as hot when that happens, you have plenty of grill to use, use it.
