I usually have salami and cheese in my carry on, if I feel like it I take a check-in suitcase as well, empty on the way out, full of food and wine on the way back. Even brought back a few litres of 96% alcohol for making my own liquors, it’s easy to find there and cheap, here in the UK it’s impossible to find and would be 10x as expensive if I could find it due to alcohol tax.

Gianduiotti and cremini are a *very* serious problem indeed.

I bring back so many baci, olive oil, vinegars, cheese, and cookies that I pack a second empty suitcase in my checked bags so I leave with 2 checked bags on the way home. 🤣

As long as they didn’t melt during the trip, you’re OK.
Lots of the stuff is available at Eataly if you have one nearby.
