Ummmmm…I am so stealing that idea or rather use cardboard as a knock box. Into the compost bin it goes!

  2. Nice latte jug! And the knock box idea is excellent.

Hey I had that machine for like 3 years, can’t complain that much. Whatever gets you a good espresso in the morning (without spending $8 each time) is amazing in my book. Enjoy your drinks!

there’s no way my puck comes out of the basket against a tissue box… interesting setup

Pic 1: this is fine. Pic 2: oh no, a blade grinder. Pic 3: Oh god! Why!?

If you’re truly wanting something espresso-like within that budget, you’d be better off with something like a Moka Pot and eventually maybe saving enough for a better grinder.

As long as you can drink it though, more power to you I guess

TBH i would go with a used gaggia but if new is must for you then ok this is probably pressurized portafilter so grinder is good enough for that but if you seriously get into espresso i would replace everything there is no upgrade path for this machine probably thermal block and not boiler. Have fun making espresso friend that is the most important part!!

Use an old yoghurt container that’s made of hard plastic.
It works well and you can knock the puck out using the rim.

  9. This is great! Use decent beans and I am sure you’ll enjoy this setup more than Starbucks or Dunkin’

Not gonna lie, the idea of the knock box is clever!

It’s a start. Reminds me my first espresso “maker” Mr. Coffee setup.

    Love this setup. Love it.

OP, enthusiasts like you make this entire coffee journey seem worthwhile, as opposed to just getting into a never ending journey of spending money on gadgets.

That knock box is awesome. You should sell them on Etsy!

Everybody starts somewhere, have fun with it!

I thought perhaps you were storing preground espresso in the box before reading the caption. Relieved.
