Mendocino Farms selling 3 day old potato salad, is this common?

Just a quick question for y’all – I picked up an online order from Mendocino Farms and received a potato salad today (3/21) that has a date sticker of 3/18 on the back. Not really complaining, just curious on food service practices

I understand some foods get packed and sold later, but is 3 days common/reasonable?
