Thought I’d do a post about underdog, since the last one here is 10 months old and doesn’t reflect their new menu. The food, service, and wine list is exceptional. It’s on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for here, and it’s at least locally owned and not a part of a big restaurant group.
Caviar bites on seaweed chips — so delicious, but maybe skip at $8/pop. Or YOLO, who cares.
Steak tartare and kimchi tasting plate. Both incredible. Steak tartare is $24, but the meat seemed very high quality and I loved the pairing with the Asian pear. Tasting plate $20.
Pork and shrimp mandu — some of the best dumplings I’ve had in Austin. Feels on par with Julie’s noodles. $16
Galbi — the star of the show. $44 and so incredibly delicious. We added a side of rice and a scallion salad.
Dessert — matcha tiramisu (solid) and something I can’t recall the name of, which was one of the best desserts I’ve had EVER. Salty and sweet with a cream filling. It’s not on the website, as I think the menu changes often.
Overall, I highly recommend this for your next date night.
