Join me in the kitchen as I show you how to make an asparagus tart. Asparagus are a perennial flowering plant and its young shoots are used as a spring vegetable. With it now officially spring, I thought this would be a great recipe to make. By utilizing store bought puff pastry, I made this asparagus tart quite easily. You can use some creative liberty with your exact tart fillings, but I really enjoyed the melted jarlsberg cheese and parmesan cheese on mine. This asparagus tart comes out beautifully and will impress guests having them think you spent hours making this recipe when it really only took minutes.

Hi everyone my name is Leah and welcome to the kitchen we’re celebrating the beginning of Spring by making a simple but delicious asparagus tart let’s get Started for this recipe you’ll need some puff pastry your favorite mustard I’m using honey mustard today olive oil salt black pepper some asparagus of course then ybur cheese and some fresh parmesan cheese as well Begin by grating 2 cups worth of ybur cheese the large holes of a box Grater then grate a/2 cups worth of Parmesan Cheese chop the Woody ends off a fresh bunch of asparagus carefully cut your asparagus half lengthwise if the stocks are really Thick lay out a defrosted sheet of puff pastry on a piece of parchment paper roll the puff pastry out into a thin rectangle that is at least 10 x 16 in in size and transfer to a baking sheet gently score a 1in border all around the inside of the rolled out puff Pastry then use a fork to prick holes and dock the inside of the Pastry squeeze about one tablespoon of honey mustard in the center of the pastry and use the back of a spoon to spread the mustard in a smooth even layer across the inner rectangle then sprinkle on the freshly grated ybur cheese all over the mustard lay out the trimmed and half

Asparagus on top alternating ends facing back and forth lightly brush the tops of the asparagus with a tablespoon of olive Oil and see season with a dash of Salt and some black pepper to Taste sprinkle on the freshly grated Parmesan cheese all over the Asparagus in a small bowl crack one egg and just scramble it with a fork brush the egg wash all over the outer border of the puff pastry bake the asparagus tart in the oven at 400° f for 15 to 20 minutes and remove when golden Brown while this asparagus tar is very simple it smells amazing and it is a very versatile Dish as well you can serve it during a morning brunch or the perfect side for any meal of the day that you like if you’re interested in my recipe for this asparagus tart you can click
