I saw this on a bean storage and was amazed that it promoted not allowing noise in.
Does this really affect beans negatively?

I play soothing music to my beans for at least half an hour before grinding them

I find that Vivaldi produces a more chocolatey flavor.

This is why I’ll never have kids. Too noisy. Upsetting the bean.

Loud noises scare them which can seriously impact the quality of the coffee.

In a normal household the impact is probably negligible but in a very noisy environment, especially where lower frequency sounds are present it can have some impact on the degassing process. This in turn leads to uneven grinding and uneven extraction. To demonstrate this , store some of your beans somewhere with no sound and then A/B the shots back to back. You will notice slight reduction in harshness and astringency. It’s also one of the reasons freezer storage for coffee beans works so well.

If I don’t lock them out they talk to me at night.

Noisture is the natural enemy of the bean.

I find that beans with noise induced PTSD are a bit bitter and produce more caffeine. /s

I leave a Bluetooth speaker next to my container with classical music playing. It permits the beans to “relax” allowing them to off gas faster and I definitely don’t need to wdt vs no soothing music.

Classical music makes it degas faster guaranteed

Lol, that seems to be a misprint or translation issue bc the symbol above is water, which makes sense. The other two words+symbols match.

I generally sing “The Java Jive” by The Ink Spots to my beans as my machine warms up.

I always whisper some sweet talk to my beans before grinding them

So my thoughts, sound is nothing but vibrations, I feel like a slow low vibration might actually help the degass procces
But I got no idea in reality.

The Chinese symbol for sound is very similar to that of water , so I think they just mistranslated it and I just made this up.

Excess auditory vibration obviously affects the bean. Because sounds travel better through solid bodies than liquid or air, it’s literally shaking your coffee apart.
Noise pollution is why most beans go off after roasting. I keep all my coffee in sound proof enclosures. Most of it has been there for years, and it’s fine. I’ve in fact never drunk any of it. I’m saving it for when nobody else has coffee due to climate change and coffee is the new gold.
