1) potato and salted cod brandade (back), chorizo-stuffed medjool dates wrapped in bacon with a piquillo pepper-tomato sauce
2) deluxe’ focaccia
with taleggio cheese, ricotta, truffle oil and fresh herbs
3) crisp short rib with hummus and pita
Never really got around to going to Avec. Always heard about it and it’s been well touted on the sub. I can say it definitely lived up to the hype.
Highlights were the dates, focaccia, and the short rib hummus. Incidentally, my partner and I realized we got a lot of bread dishes haha but all the carbs were perfectly prepared and I couldn’t say no. That “focaccia” was such a great play on a tavern style pizza. Ultra rich and earth shatteringly crispy.
I could take or leave the brandade. It was tasty, but I sort of wish we got something else more “interesting.” I was side eyeing the prawns and branzino that another table got.
But, I enjoyed it and glad I finally went!
