Lol begrudgingly. More like gleefully. $14 for a pretzel made of probably $.15 of flour and yeast. They were just so egregious that they lost a large # of customers

  2. PolarBearLaFlare

BLT for $16? Pretzel for $14? Pastries for $6?? 💀💀 lmaoo yeah I wonder why they had to knock their prices down

  3. Sammy_Bubba

Their reputation has gone to absolute shit and they deserve it. Hope they improve their labor practices as well.

  4. meh-en-place

This is the same company that made deals with stores to sell them bread and as soon as they cut ties with their old vendors they raised their prices.

Absolutely should not be applauded, they are doing what they have to do to get business.

  5. buenosnoyes

Electric jellyfish, a local beer brewed less than 3 miles away from east tiger should never have cost 9.50 a pint in the first place.

Fredos charges $6 and always has

  6. 16bitBeetle

A $14 pretzel dropped to $7 was a sign of greed, not inflation

  7. tothesource

    Lol fuck them.

Also there is zero reason they would have actually needed to sell a pretzel for $14. Even $7 is outrageous

  8. Firsttimepostr

Soooo are they still underpaying their employees? This reeks of desperation. Bring back the E 6th location.

  9. BrianOconneR34

It’s a trrrraaaaaap! Sounds great. Pretzels are solid.

  10. Sounds like people weren’t paying those inflated prices so they had to lower everything to get some business back 😂

  11. brandoelk11

I’ll go back when I hear they are treating their employee’s better, this just looks like they got caught being greedy/ shady, whatever you want to call it.

  12. revtodd1

So they raised prices then lowered them? What are we applauding here?

  13. EggandSpoon42

I’d rather them fix their employee problems first so I don’t have to keep reading about it on Reddit.

If you fuck up so bad that multiple people are complaining on Reddit, you fucked up bad.

And I don’t even remember what people have been complaining about, but I do know that I used to be a regular customer because I live right by it and it has a beautiful view, and now I just don’t go anymore because of complaints from people I follow

  14. KODERKEN1

I guess they had a hard time finding customers to buy $14 pretzels.

  15. wolverineismydad

WOW! I still can’t afford it but I’m impressed!

  16. Disastrous_Narwhal46

Interesting. Seems like they’ve been trying to repair their image within the last year. Free coffee during the entire Teacher’s appreciation week? That’s a lot of potential revenue lost

  17. jhgibson

100% price increase on a pretzel isn’t an adjustment for inflation.

Where was this originally posted? So I can go shit on the source.

  19. I knew this would happen (and might happen to other places too). You can only raise your price so high- people aren’t paying 14$ for a pretzel plus tax and tip. Nope, nope, nope. There’s a limit to how high you can go before people say no, and respectfully, i don’t find Easy Tiger to be worth as much as they charge, even with the prices lowered.

I get that inflation is difficult and prices have gone up, but at some point customers will start saying no. Prices for goods go up at restaurants, but peoples pay hasn’t gone up. We can’t afford it, so we don’t go to those places anymore. It’s a bad situation all around.

Find ways to reduce costs other ways, and be transparent about pricing. Cutting wages and hours is not the answer either. You need a good staff to provide a good service. I’m so grateful I’m out of the food industry.

  20. Get_Ur_Shinebox

Hear hear! This means I am changing my policy of definitely not going there to very likely not going there.

  21. AH_Ethan

they treat their employees like shit anyway.

  22. spartanerik

Whoa whoa whoa, hold your applause, let’s wait and see. For all we know they dropped prices and dropped the portion size as well.

  23. evechalmers

This sounds desperate. Quality has been declining rapidly since 2019 and combined with their rapid expansion to high SF properties, I bet they are stretched. Add in bad labor vibes, no thanks.

  24. ugh – I love their breakfast sandwiches but haven’t been there in months cause they’re just too expensive.

  25. christophla

Love it or hate it, it’s still nice to see.

  26. buttercupmercenary

I’d rather eat my dogs shit, at least I know it’s fresh and consistent

  27. mattmeow

Too late. The bridge is burned. They didn’t learn their lesson, they’re desperate. Shame, but the business I loved died years ago.

  28. MikeinAustin

Applauded? You their social media manager or something?

Easy Tiger had the worst “casual” food prices in town. It’s not inflation they are correcting, it’s terrible menu pricing.

I can only assume they are trying to drop prices because their $14 pretzel had zero sales.

Flour and water and labor costs did not go up 800%.

  29. SataLune

Its almost like when the price of bread increases people get unruly.

  30. kytelines

These prices were unreal. No wonder no one wanted to pay them.

  31. astrosfantx

Damage is done. I won’t be going back. And it’s not just because of the prices. It’s because the quality went down significantly

  32. anyorsome

We have made so much off overcharging we have decided to get some good press
