Just moved in to this house and it has a Blaze grill connected to main gas line. The hood thermometer seems to be way off. Yes I am a grilling noob in the first place, but when it said 400 degrees, it felt more like 700 and I torched my burgers real quick. Should I look in to replacing, cleaning, resetting or something else to the hood thermometer? It hasn’t been used for at least 3 or 4 months.

Those thermometers are notoriously horrible. Get a 2 zone thermometer system where one is kept near the cooking surface and the other in the meat.

I ignore the one on all my grills, smokers and pellet devices. I go by the intaread and my probe which has multiple out lets to monitor the meat and ambiant temps. But if you wanted to i am sure amaxon would have any number od replacenment ones too.
