Today’s video is sponsored by Blue land more on them coming Up On I want to tell you guys about a brand I recently discovered which is blue land so I’m always cooking which means I’m always running my dishwasher and the typical detergent pod is covered in a plastic film when that dissolves in the dishwasher that ends up in our drinking
Water and even in our soil which means we end up consuming it and then that’s a major endocrine disruptor to our bodies that’s why I’m a huge fan of blue lands dishwasher tablets because they don’t use any single use plastic either in the packaging or on the Pod themselves and
They come in packaging that’s actually fully compostable like this and I really appreciate the fact that their tablets are sourced from vegan and non on GMO ingredients so they’re really effective and you can even save money on their Tablets by buying their refills in bulk
And I’m a huge fan of buying things in bulk I love buying food in bulk and storing it in glass jars to save on packaging and expense so I love that when you buy their dishwasher starter set it comes not only with the tablets but it also comes with this cute little
Reusable tin so I can use that each time and just refill it whenever I need more tablets I use them every day and they work fantastic so if you’re interested in trying them out to blueland is offering my viewers a special offer so if you want to try out the sets like I
Have all you have to do is click my link below for 15% off your first starter set so I hope you guys try them out and thank you to Blue Lam for sponsoring today’s video so I’m just going to go ahead and rinse off these seed starting
Trays that I had out in my high tunnel I love these because they can go on the top rack of my dishwasher and I can put my dishwasher on disinfect and it’ll clean them up so that way the next time I’m ready to go and start seeds in the
Spring we’re good to go so these are pretty dirty right now but I’m going to go ahead and just give them a little rinse and try to get some of the bigger chunks of dirt out of them and then they should be fine to go in the dishwasher I
Love these compared to those really big seed starting trays because those I find are nearly impossible to clean so you can’t really put them through the dishwasher and once mud and dirt get stuck all over it it’s pretty much impossible to sanitize them so I love these these are one of my favorite
Things for starting seeds I like to put them in the top of my dishwasher that way they don’t melt and they seem to hold up really well and they get really nice and clean and now I can go ahead and run this Dishwasher I wanted to share a little grocery order that I got from Sprouts today so I bought a whole bunch of produce and just like staple things and I didn’t buy any meat this time because this past week the family and I went to one of our
Local farmers at the farmers market and we stocked up on a bunch of meat so I have that in the freezer so work pretty good in that department but I did need more fruit and produce and I always need dairy products that’s something I always
Need so I thought I’d just show you a few Staples and then my Sprouts is next to a tra Joe’s so I also picked up some flowers just cuz I miss my summertime Farmers Market flowers so let me go ahead and show you what I get just on like a staple week
These are kind of just like weekly things that I would pick up all the time so let me show you some of our favorites I’m going to start with dairy because that needs to be put away first so I’m going to start there I like to get this
Heavy cream I put this in my tea in the morning and it’s really delicious or I’ll use it in soups and things like that and then this is my first time buying this one but this is from raw Farm it’s a raw keep that’s one of the best probiotics I normally buy a
Grass-fed one and this one is grass-fed too but it’s raw so I picked that one up I’m going to try that and then I always have good culture sour cream in the fridge that’s one of our favorite to top chilies with or I don’t know the kids
Love dipping stuff in it so I always have sour cream and then I always have butter this is one of my favorite Butters just a nice salted butter I use salted butter and everything even baking and then a little bit of raw honey I always have different kinds of raw honey
In the house to Sweet sweeten teas or to sweeten baked things or salad dressings I love putting raw honey in my salad dressings and just sweetening up things like greens with it a little bit of this organic for fruit jam it has raspberries and cherries and currants and what else
Strawberries so this is delicious my kids love topping their oats like rolled oldfashioned oats I’ll make them on the stove I’ll make them in the instant pot and then they’ll just top it with a little bit of like a real fruit Jam so that’s really delicious and then we ALS
Also love to have kombucha in the house all the time such a great drink for your gut and it feels like such a treat well usually share a bottle I won’t drink this whole thing myself we’ll just kind of all take sips and share it and then I
Picked up olive oil I’m always experimenting with new kinds of olive oils trying to find a really good one I like this one that’s unfiltered and organic so I typically look for that and of single origin so this is just from Italy it’s not from Italy Spain Greece
And like a mix of different places it’s from one place so that way it’s more traceable I love these fermented pickles these are really delicious bread and butter pickles and I use these in a bunch of different ways they’re delicious and so I like to have those in
The fridge I love to have a lot of fermented foods as you can see that’s really good for your body I also grabbed some maple syrup just the same use as the honey and then lately since it’s winter I’ve been doing more baking and so I picked up not the healthiest but I
Picked up some organic dark brown sugar I also picked up just some raw turbinado sugar I already have coconut sugar in my pantry which I use a lot of so I didn’t need any more of that but I picked up some of those and that’s specifically
Just for baking we love to make like iorn desserts and stuff like that so I’ll sweeten it with a more natural sweetener I picked up some bulk walnuts I love to have these on salads or yogurt also another little treat I picked up that looked delicious are these coconut
And cacao nibs and dark chocolate and they have pretty simple ingredients nothing crazy so I love keeping little treats like this in the housez like to reach for treats that are good quality and still just kind of Whole Foods another one of my favorite snacks
Are beef sticks so these are some of the grass-fed minis I love these for me and for the kids they’re always so good to snack on and I like that these don’t have any sugar so these are really good grass-fed beef sticks those are my favorite and then I always pick up
Potatoes so I picked up a bag of these organic yellow potatoes they’re my favorite I love adding them in soups or just making home fries in the oven like for breakfast with them I always get these little mini oranges those are so great but then I also picked up a few of
These carac care oranges those are also some my my favorite oranges I missed a pantry staple over here I always have this little glass jar of tomato paste I love buying the glass one because after I open it I can keep it in the fridge it
Just lasts so much longer and it’s so much easier than having the tin I love this or the little squeeze tube either of those are a staple in my house another thing I picked up that I like to have is just some organic dark chocolate
So this is good at night it’s not super high in sugar so it’s not going to spike your insulin too much raw cheddar cheese I always have cheese in my house it’s one of my favorite foods so this is also really good for your gut because it’s
Raw and grass-fed so I always have a block of cheese in my fridge these little mini cucumbers these are some of my favorite for like lunchtime things I grabbed a bag of lemons I always have lemons in the fridge either for marinades like Greek marinades on
Chicken or I’ll put lemon in some water too in the morning that’s a really good way to get your digestive system going with a splash of apple cider vinegar it’s one of the best ways to start your day and then I have a few red peirs in
This bag these are beautiful and I try to normally buy what’s in season so even though it’s not from the farmers market it’ll still even kind of tell you in the store if it’s in season or not because it’ll usually be on sale and tons of it
So I love different varieties of pairs and I also got some more apples I always buy these organic since we eat the skin um sometimes I’ll skip the oranges being organic cuz we don’t eat the outside but I definitely always try and buy my apples organic I like to buy avocados so
I just got two this time because I always end up buying a full bag of avocados and they go bad so quickly so I decided from now on I should just buy two at a time and no more because they go bad too quickly so I always like to
Have avocados though I love that on the side of meals or as a snack even you could do that on a little bit of sourdough toasted it’s so yummy and really good for you and then I picked up some kiwis kiwis are in season right now
So I made sure to grab some of those and I love my berries so my favorite berries are blackberries and blueberries these are really good to have in the fridge and put in a little bit of Greek yogurt or just snack on them on their own I
Love berries and then of course I have lettuce that has been growing in the garden but it’s officially over it’s so cold now it’s been getting really cold at night especially and so that’s kind of over so I just picked up one little container of store-bought lettuce and I
Will say it’s so much more economical to grow it yourself so let’s go ahead and get this all put away For me resetting my kitchen is less about having everything being perfectly clean C or even perfectly organized it’s more about the food that I have in it am I set up to eat healthy that week do we have healthy snacks is there fruit on the counter are there vegetables and
Meat in the fridge that’s really what makes me feel like okay I can take on this week of healthy cooking we’re going to feel good we’re going to eat at home and it just is a joy to wake up every morning and walk in the kitchen and see
A bowl full of fruit or homemade bread on the counter it just feels like we’re living life and it feels like my kitchen is really full and it’s the heart of our home so this is the area that I love to put in work not just in cleaning because
That’s never ending I’m always going to be cleaning and picking up but filling my fridge each week and filling my pantry and setting out fruit on the counters those are the things that bring our family in particular the most Joy my kids don’t care if it’s perfectly clean
And there’s dishes in the sink they care if there’s snacks on the counter they care if there’s fruit I feel like doing this gets the whole family excited to eat healthy and eat these nourishing foods that just bring so much joy to our lives one of the things I’ve been loving
Lately is to use my salad spinner in multiple ways so not only do I use it to clean my lettuce from the garden but I’ve been soaking my fruit in it with a little bit of apple cider vinegar just to break down anything that may be on
The surface of them and then doing the same thing with my berries and I love spinning it cuz it dries them them really well and I’ve noticed that storing them in my little bowls here in the fridge after I’ve spun them in the salad spinner keeps them fresh for a
Really long time I feel like my berries used to go bad really quickly and they’re not doing that as often as they used to so I feel like this is really working and I’m always happy to use some sort of kitchen gadget in multiple ways Every couple days or so I always make sure to take meat out of my fridge so I’ll take out ground beef chicken bacon pork saage and I’m not I don’t really meal plan I just kind of pull meat out and whatever meat whatever veggies I have
Then I end up making some sort of Whole Food meal from it and it’s usually just as simple as that if you’re new here we’re a family of six and we recently swapped out our dining room table for one that is a little more appropriate for the amount of people in our family
It has this unfinished butcher block top and so I’m just rubbing it down with a little bit of beeswax to help preserve it and keep it from getting too stained up by the Kids One of my favorite things to do whenever I’m cleaning up the house and getting set up for the week is to either cut some flowers from my own garden or pick up some Farmers Market flowers over the weekend but this time of year there’s just something about a fresh bouquet of
Flowers on the table that just makes my space feel so much more soothing and is really inspired car me for my spring and summer garden which I just can’t wait for I’m such a person that’s inspired by nature and the seasons and so just adding a little bit of fresh Greenery or
Florals in my house just changes Everything since I’m in the kitchen I’m going to go ahead and get started on our dinner for tonight in my pantry I’ve had just a jar of navy beans I think they are in they are just sitting there for a while and so I want to go ahead and use
Them up cuz I’m going to be kind of cleaning out my pantry soon and doing an overhaul on that cuz it needs it really bad so I went ahead and threw those in my instant pot this morning and got those cooking so they’re nice and tender
I just pressure cook them for about 30 or 40 minutes until they’re nice and soft so now I have a whole bunch of beans that I can use to make a meal I just want something really warm and Hearty and cozy so I did this last week
I have a little bit of bacon and that’s going to start my soup out the first thing I’m going to do is use some kitchen scissors and I’m going to cut my bacon up into little strips and then I’m going to get that in my pot along with
Some veggies to sauté down with it I’ve got a sweet yellow onion which I always use or just a sweet onion and then I have some garlic that I’m going to use as well and then I have one of my carrots from the garden which is very
Misshapen but it’s going to be delicious and sweet cuz it’s been in the freezing cold that really gives carrots a lot of sweetness so I’m going to chop this up and I’m going to get this all going in my big Dutch oven this is some of my favorite bacon
It’s from one of my local farmers and it just has amazing flavor so if you can find one that’s pretty good quality and no sugar added uncured those are my favorite since this soup isn’t going to have any other meat in it I’m going to go ahead and use probably about half a
Pack of bacon to really give it some metin and some good flavor so I’m just going to cut this up and they don’t have to be too small I like to leave them a little bit chunkier that way when you get a bite of it you can really taste that bacon flavor and
It’s still going to have all that fat that’s going to render down so that’s also going to help flavor the soup but I just like the nice texture it gives especially in something like a bean soup or everything else is relatively small but then you have a nice chunk of pork
So it’s delicious so all my bacon is in the bottom of my pot now and you could go ahead and get that going on the stove but I’m just going to make this really easy today and I’m going to go ahead and cut up my veggies and get them sautéing
In there and then I’ll add my garlic in later just so it doesn’t burn okay give me hands a quick rinse since I the bacon this carrots already been washed so I’m just going to go ahead and cut it off the stem I love these beautiful heirloom carrots they
Are my favorite I’m definitely going to grow these again this year they turn out so beautifully even though the soil wasn’t quite right to get that perfect carrot shape I love the shape of all these shaped carrots and I think they’re really beautiful so I’ll probably grow
These again I like these so I’m just going to go ahead and cut these into fairly small chunks I don’t want them too big I want them to kind of just BL blend and melt into the soup so I’m going to cut them pretty small and then
We’ll try and cut our onion the same size okay I’m going to go ahead and add these into the pot so I have room to chop my onion and then I’ll just do the same thing on this Onion okay so all my veggies are chopped and ready to go so I’m going to go ahead and get this heated up over about medium heat and I’m just going to let this cook down and let that bacon render its fat and let all the veggies start to soften
Since I’m using a bunch of beans in the soup I’m going to go ahead and use about six garlic cloves this is a lot of garlic but I want to make sure that there’s plenty of flavor and that those beans don’t fall flat so garlic is definitely going to help us do that
Along with the bacon and some of the other flavors I’m going to add too so once my bacon is nice and starting to Brown up pretty well then I’ll go ahead and add in that garlic and let that sauté down that way it’s not going to
Burn and get kind of that bitter flavor that we don’t want so I’ll just leave this here for now and go ahead and stir my pot until everything is nice and brown and since I already have this package of bacon out I’m actually going to go ahead and put this on a parchment
Line baking sheet that’s my favorite way to make bacon it’s so easy so I just we’ll put it like this in little long strips and preheat my oven to about 375 and it Cooks up in about 15 20 minutes depending on the thickness of your bacon
And that way I can leave it in the fridge and we can have it with breakfast with scrambled eggs or put it in a kiche or even on like a Sourdough sandwich with a little bit of chicken and bacon and kind of make your own sandwich or Panini it’s just really convenient to
Have bacon that’s already cooked in the Fridge I’m going to go ahead and add in 1 tablespoon of tomato paste and this is going to make it a little bit richer FL that’s my favorite thing to add if I want more of a tomato based soup I don’t like to add tomato sauce I prefer to add
Tomato paste and then thin it out with either filtered water or a little bit of chicken broth or something like that cuz it’s going to give it a better flavor so I’m going to go ahead and stir that in it already smells so good and now I’m
Going to season the soup so the first thing I’m going to add is a little bit of salt and pepper you want to make sure you’re adding plenty of salt because we have all those beans that are going to go in so we want to make sure that they have
Plenty of flavor and then a nice pinch of pepper to kind of balance out those creamy white beans another thing I’ve been loving to cook with this winter is smoked paprika so I’m also going to add in some smoked paprika that’s going to go really well with that tomato paste
And just make the really nice and warming soup perfect for a cold day and then one final seasoning I’m going to add is a little bit of Italian seasoning I’m going to do about that much Italian seasoning in here and that’s going to give us a whole blend of different
Spices and then I’m also going to throw in one bay leaf so I lied and that’s going to give us another level of flavor here so it’s not just beans we’re going to taste there’s going to be lots going on I’m going to go ahead and add in about four or five cups
Of chicken Broth make soup yeah making soup oh I’m going to go ahead and scoop out some of my beans along with the cooking liquid it’s in so if you’re using canned beans just go ahead and add that cooking liquid in there with the soup and that’s going to give us a really thick stew
Like consistency so I like to add that in so these beans are already nice and tender so this soup’s going to come together really quickly and then I’ll have plenty of beans left over to put in the fridge and I can use it for something else on another night so it’s
Kind of like meal prep and cooking dinner in one so that’s really fun okay I think I’m going to do around 3 cups of beans you can just kind of get it to your desired consistency but I want to leave some room in here so some liquid
In here because I’m actually going to be adding in a little bit of pearled couscous so I have some couscous here this is the bigger one so there are two different kinds of couscous one is pearled which is just a little bit bigger and I like this for soup so I’m
Going to be adding in about half a cup of this into our soup and then after that the soup is ready to go so if you don’t want to use couscous a good substitute for that would be quinoa or brown rice or even a small shaped pasta
Like diini you could get cassava diini which is also gluten-free so there’s a lot of options you can play around with it but I’m going to go ahead and use some of these delicious couscous my kids love these and it’s a really delicious addition to soups and it’s going to puff up and
Thicken up and really start to absorb that liquid if you add in a little bit too many beans or too much couscous you can always go back and put a little more broth in it or even a splash of water will be just fine that way you can get
That consistency just right I also have some Parmesan cheese in the fridge and I know I’m not going to be using the Rind so this is the perfect addition to the soup I’m just going to plop it in there and that’s going to give us a lot more
Flavor to the soup so that’s it I’m just going to let this simmer for about 15 minutes until that couscous is nice and puffed up and dinner is ready to Go I hope you guys enjoyed spinning just a productive day in the kitchen with me and you can get this recipe and more of my other ones at healthy elizabeth.com and don’t forget you can get 15% off using my link in the description box over at Bland and thank you so much to

I'm recovering from being sick right now, 🫠 hello February, but I'll respond to all your comments slowly but surely! Thank you so much for being here with me!! 💛
I am here for the first time and I am so curious if you have Polish roots. Your list of products is so typical for Polish cuisine, even your kitchen looks like mine. Greetings from Poland, EU.
Hope you recover quickly.
Love soups recipes, Thank you looks delicious! Great video!
I also put my avocados in fridge, but I’ve also thrown them whole in my freezer
Bluelamd's powder dis'hwashing detergent is one of my favorite things. It cuts grease like a dream!

I’d love a link for the black coat you are wearing towards the beginning of this video! I’ve bought many many items from your links ❤❤
You are amazing! I love how you love your family.
Hey!😄 If you don’t already—when your avocados get ripe put them in the fridge and they last much longer.
Pretty new here and loving your channel and content. Quick question…in washing your fruit and vegetables, is it better to use apple cider vinegar or regular vinegar? I have always just used regular vinegar, but saw you use apple cider vinegar. I'm intrigued. Thanks!
I love that you said – my kids don't care if the house is clean, they care if there are snacks – AMEN!
I LOVE KOMBUCHA!! However that healthade has soo much added sugar! I stay away from that brand
Love your cutting board..I’m looking for a good one..did you order yours or? Would love to get one similar to yours

Where did you purchase your salt and pepper cellars? I love them and your channel! Thanks!
I love your content! I just wanted to say that if you refrigerate your avocados you can buy a lot at once and they last for up to 10 days! 🙂 ❤
Hello! Hopefully I am not repeating someone but if you buy avocados in bulk. Wait for them to ripen a bit and then submerge them in water (change every week) and store in the fridge. It’s magical!! They last for weeks🥑
I like your new table. Soup looks good.
I just found your channel & I love it.
Could you link the potting trays that are dishwasher proof?
