I got this on a whim. Does not say fermented anywhere. Does it need to be properly cooked first?

    I’m not 100% sure but this stuff is usually for seasoning/salting side dishes (banchan) like kimchi and various sorts of things.

    I’m sure you can use it for other things but not sure what you are looking for with your questions

  2. its fermented, some company say fermented shrimp and other will translate it into salted shrimp. safe as long as its refrigerated, also whatever it goes into will be cooked one way or the other so it’ll be fine.

    It doesn’t need to be cooked. In fact, off the top of my head, I can’t think of an instance where you WOULD have it cooked.
