🟢 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.

If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I’m a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

  1. This puts life into perspective. As we speak friendships are being broken over trivial things like not answering sms fast enough, divorce over burps not not putting the toilet seat down, fighting with strangers over politicians who doesn’t know you exists and unlikely to do anything that directly impacts you, murder over guacamole in your chipotle order. In the meantime, there are people out there making the best with what they got simply for survival.

  2. when covid happened it was usually only rich people who died, here in europe pour on the street, none of them died even though they were very dirty and picked food from the garbage,,,so don't judge them,,people who don't have bacteria in their body are more susceptible

  3. A few years ago I was waiting on my Krystal order and saw the employees take a freshly made wrong order in a to- go bag to the trash can in the restaurant and put it in there and the trash was full so it was at the top. I got my food and the 2 min old food in the trash and left. I gave half to some homeless pep and kept the other

  4. This is disturbing…I have never known that such foods exist in Philippines. We have a huge Philippines community in Canada, hopefully people in Philippines will stop starving and eat second used food, this is so bad for health

  5. Sonny, thank you for documenting this. I'm a Filipino American that never knew this existed in my motherland. This is horrific, and I'm ashamed that I was blind to this poverty. My parents are from an affluent area and we never had to experience this. Thank you for showing the dark side of Manila!

  6. I've rarely been truly shocked by a BEFRS video, but this was actually really difficult to watch. I admire the ingenuity and the creativity of the locals, but it is quite scary to see people have to live like that. Good for you, Sonny, for highlighting it

  7. Sonny, I’ve heard that Vietnamese people eat both cats and dogs….would you ever try that?

  8. I am constantly reminded that despite all our advances in science, art, philosophy, medicine we fail at taking care of the most basic of human necessities.
A world where profit is more important than a person.

"Poverty Porn" is the perfect way to describe it. Where posting on Twitter is farthest most people will ever go to help, under the guise of "creating awareness." We are already aware of the issues but awareness without action is nothing more than empty words. Only interested in the pats on the back and thumbs up their post will generate.

  9. Wtf! Ph people are eating shit called "pagpag"! I don't understand why they allow this to happen. Sanitation wise it is not clean. It is not even healthy. It can be contaminated with lots of bacteria coming from flies and rodents. What is wrong with the minds of the Filipinos, how can they allow this?

  10. leftovers from a hotel re-cooked, im down…. pulled out of a garbage bag with hair on it, no thanks.

  11. Just 6mins into this video and I'm tearing 😢. If we're able to afford a good meal, we have to be grateful to God. I feel sorry for these people. I pray that I make lots of money and help people.

  12. I hope I'll be able to walk with you soon too @besteverfoodreview and tour you in variety of food locals love here in the Philippines 😊 wow proud of you @TheChoiShow being with the best food review. Oh chef tatung too @simpol ! yey 😊❤ The best food review, thank for explaining this thing well. Oh andy is your friend 😊 Although I'm a local, i say that the fried one is safer as high heats kills some bacteria.. but I'm still sad that there are still some eating this here 😢
