Been using Pit Boss Competition Blend pellets for awhile. Never any problems, great flavor and $18 for 40lbs. Just picked up a new bag and noticed there’s a bag redesign. Got home and noticed the pellets look drastically different. Anyone have an idea what’s going on? Thanks!

The difference Lumberjack pellets makes is truly amazing. I use Kirkland or pitboss when I just need heat for using my pizza oven, but smoking anything the Lumberjack are worth it. Might be time to leave Pitboss behind

Is the mix of woods the same? It looks like they upped the oak.

  3. I use the Expert Grill brand from Walmart…”Five Star Blend” and noticed the exact opposite. The bag I just got was noticeably darker than the previous bag.

Thought it was weird… now wondering if a batch got mixed with Pit Boss at the factory.

So glad you posted this. When I first got my pellet grill I started with Pit Boss pellets and had extraordinary results. Then bought a bag several months ago and thought I noticed a big change in the taste of the food and how they burned. Quite bummed to see this. Now I’m not sure what pellets I will buy next.
