0%Sugar But sweet and yummy 😋 , Sellou or seffouf is a High-Protein Moroccan Snack mostly famous during Ramadan (the fasting month) as it has so many benefits to keep you all day energetic and productive. This year I am coming back with a new recipe to make my favourite Ramadan snack.
Ingredients:
250g Roasted Oat flour
250 g Roasted Almond
250g Roasted Walnut
250g Roasted Peanut
120g Roasted Flax seeds
200g soaked dates
2 tbsp olive oil
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp ground fennel
Instructions:
1- In a pan, roast the oat flour till it turns to golden color, make sure not to burn it.
2- Roast the almond, walnut, peanut, and flax seeds (we also use sesame seeds but I was running out of them so feel free to add them or more nuts if you like)
3- Mix in a blender separately almonds, walnuts, and peanuts till they turn into a paste.
4- Soak the dates for at least 1 hour and mix them in a blender with 2 tbsp of olive oil till you get a date paste.
5- Put everything in a big bowl, add a pinch of salt, 1 tbsp cinnamon, and 1 tbsp ground fennel, you can also use 1 tbsp ground anis and 1 tbsp ground mastic.
6- Mix all the ingredients, and serve on a plate
7- Decorate with an unskinned roasted almond.
I love to serve this snack with Moroccan tea or milk for Suhour time. It helps to make the body good all day long.
That’s it for today and till the next post BYE and PEACE ✌️ 🕊️.
From Sara with love ❤️
