Beef Stroganoff (Russian dish) recipe:
1.5 lb of beef
1 onion
1 lb of mushrooms
3 tbsp of cooking oil
Salt, seasoning and spices (ground cumin, dried herbs, sweet paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper)
Garlic (5-6 cloves)
Greens (fresh basil, dill, parsley or cilantro)
1. Cut the beef into thin slices and cook without oil for 5 min.
2. Add 1 chopped onion, 3 tbsp of cooking oil and stir fry for 10 min on medium-high flame.
3. Pour water over the beef (enough to cover it) and sauté for 1 hour with closed lid on low flame.
4. Add the chopped mushrooms, garlic, salt, seasoning, greens and cook for 10-15 min.
For mashed potatoes – 3 large potatoes peel and cut into medium sizes.
Put the potatoes into a pan with water (1-2 inch water over the potatoes) and cook for 20-25 min or until soft. Drain the water, add 2-3 tbsp of butter, (cream or milk) and mash them.
Serve the Beef Stroganoff over the mashed potatoes and enjoy!
