I've had cheesier. I'm not even lying. I asked for an "extra most bestest" from little Caesars and told the person taking my order that I liked cheese. They put waaaay too much cheese. It was like a river the cheese acted like a liquid. Think of a pizza with and inch and a half of cheese. It was a mind blowing experience. It was the worst and best thing I've ever had. They fucked up so good. I think about this pizza every time I get a pizza anywhere. I don't think I've ever had better.
This is a bit cynical and dark, but I feel like it was an unspoken thing that Johnny Cochran’s success against the LAPD was such a big, precedent setting win that letting a guilty black man go free was just a drop in the bucket compared to all the guilty white men who never even set foot in a courthouse.
A lot of the older folks in the 90s grew up under Jim Crow and probably knew at least one person who was lynched or brutally beaten by white men the legal system never even pretended to care about.
My grandpa was born in Alabama in 1919 and while he did not seem to agree with the OJ case at all, when I think about the things he experienced as a black man in those times…I can see how other black people would feel differently.
