Tri tip reverse seared is easily one of my top 3 meats. Inexpensive (at least in Central Texas) and easy to cook. This was a salt n pepper rub with post oak wood. Smoked at 275° for about 2hrs. Taken off and seared and sliced. If you're not making this then what are you waiting for??

And don't come at me at this being too rare. I like it that way!

Tritip was the first meat i ever smoked. And it’s always been amazing. One of my absolute favorites. I think I’ll smoke one next week.

Kiss of death post. Just hope no grocery executive sees this as ammo for their next “pricing increase” meeting.

Absolutely love tri-tip! As long as you cut it the right way, it’s extremely versatile. I love it as a whole roast, steaks, or on skewers. It takes marinades very well, but still has that great beefy flavor.

I’m not eating red meat anymore, but damn does this make me want to go buy some.

I think Tri tip is the best for grilling, nice fat, great flavor, very hard to over cook. Zero downside

Tri tip is my go to when I’m gonna have people over or have a nice dinner with wifey.

Tri is always so damn chewy for me. Can’t even get through the gristle

Don’t ruin it now, not many cuts are out there anymore that are good but cheap because people don’t prefer them. My other go to is loin top sirloin steaks at Costco, they do very well with sous vide.
