Someone asked about karepan in this subreddit and made me think about Bricolage on College west of Dovercourt. It’s a Korean owned bakery. In particular their savoury items are amazing. Everything they make has a great crispy crust while the inside has a pleasant chew. Also everything is way larger and heftier than any other Asian bakery I’ve tried. So big that when you eat-in, they offer to cut the bigger items into bite size pieces.
Today I got:
Karepan: Love the crispy coating and how thin and mochi-like the dough is. Meanwhile inside is a very delicious curry filling with minced pork.
Bagel: first time having their giant bagel spread with an onion cream cheese. The bagel is not traditional at all. Like their other items, the crust is so crunchy. The cream cheese had a slight sweetness along that I enjoyed.
Potato and bacon epi bread: This is one of faves. Really appreciate how there’s a nice amount of bacon in the mashed potato filling inside this over foot-long twisted bread.
Not eaten today, but I usually get the jalapeño bacon cheese bun. So good. Big pieces of bacon and plenty of cheese stuffed into the bun.
Definitely worth the trip to the west end.
