Ignore the heater it’s just being stored there right now. Generally it’s not ideal to have the grill under an overhang. But in this case it’s at the edge and the overhang itself has no lip on that side as you can see. Is this still a bad idea? Is there something I should get to help guide the smoke out?

    No and if it starts a fire insurance will not cover it because its not up to code specifically the fire code.

    No. Smoke with bellow and tarnish the wood and your at risk of fire as well

    That spot would be perfect for storing a grill and should be fine for regular cooking, though you might see some effects on the wood in time. Sure as hell not safe for starting charcoal or if anything goes wrong though!

    Just looking at that setup make sure you have a high quality fire extinguisher handy regardless of grill location. 10lb would be enough.
