Interesting. I’m from Iowa, I’ve never had it with tomato-based sauce.
My family’s recipe is strongly vinegary, to the point that a coworker once asked what the hell I was microwaving. Also probably just my mom’s variation, but she used turkey ‘ham’. Ritz crackers is an interesting idea.
