Help! I’ve never cooked with a shallot! Did I take off enough of the layer? Is the rest of it edible?

    Technically the layer is edible too but yeah that’s good

    It’s just like an onion so you peel the paperless skin off.

    You’re good. If that last outer layer gives you trouble cutting, just toss it.
