I just found these at my local Galleria supermarket. They look yummy and I love squid so I got one of each. One is dry and one is saucy. Do I need to cook these? Are they already cooked? Or if not, are they meant to be eaten raw? I am planning on having them with rice and some green veggies of some sort. Advice gratefully welcomed!

both are ready to eat as is. and have it with steamed rice since they are usually a bit too salty on their own.

Top one is cooked but the bottom one doesn’t look like it is. They’re meant to be eaten as is with rice.

They are both squid that have gone through different preservation methods and essentially raw.

The top one is briefly cooked seasoned and dried in heat to give it a long shelf life.

The bottom one is fermented to give it a long shelf life.

Both are seasoned with the sauce you see to make the side dish.

My favorite between the two is the fermented squid.

Technically both are uncooked. But the one above are made from dried squid. So it’s almost like cooked.

Or not at all! One thing I learned in Korea is I don’t like squid!
