You’re gonna stain that pot so bad. Use a Dutch oven with no enamel

Brisket? If so, you won’t need any wood past the pot handle.

Only add wood to the first one third of your snake.

Are smoking something or having a bonfire?

Honestly I’d only put wood chunks on the first 3rd of the snake.

Baby, you’ve got a stew going

Honestly I think you should try grilling food instead. I think you’ll enjoy it much more.

  8. First of all.. how did it turn out?

    Here’s a few things I do when I have a snake method:
    1. I prefer wood chips over chunks. I find the chunks cause too much fluctuation of temp.
    2. I try to organize my charcoal neatly. I haven’t tested it, but in my mind I’d like to think it’ll burn more consistently and give me more consistent temps.
    3. Someone mentioned the pot. I don’t care about your pot and if it’s a trash pot to you then it works. But my wife loves vintage shit so it may be worth donating and just using something “less valuable” for the sake of one less thing in the landfill.
    4. Not pictured, but if you’re not using a digital temp probe I 200% recommend getting on. I personally think thermoworks makes a great product, I use the the Smoke

Way too much wood there it will be hotter than you need. Probably need 3-4 bits of wood like that at most i would say
