Shrimp scampi became popular after World War II but there is not one set recipe. The most popular version in America usually includes shrimp, garlic, lemon, olive oil, and other ingredients. Scampi is actually the plural for the word scampo, which is shrimp. So when you order this dish it’s like saying shrimp shrimps(or something like that). Most Italian restaurants in Las Vegas feature this dish as an appetizer but it is sometimes served as a main course with a side of linguine or fettucini. hi my name is Roberto Rani today uh we’re going to make some uh shrimp scamping we’re going to start off with some oil on the P I use for my shrim scampy uh the the u12 there are 12 size 12 for uh 12 shrimps for a pound so that that’s the measurement for this large FR that I’m using today what we’re going to do we’re going to se in the oil you want to make sure they a nice and sear on both sides you will see the color will be like a purple a little pink actually I’m sorry for the for the color that we need you don’t want to cook them to Mucho because you cook to Mucho will be uh a little bit chewy so you want to keep it uh uh asess cooked as possible we’re going to add the sauce also so you have to consider the timing between uh the cooking the Siri and the cooking with the the rest of the sauce you don’t want them over cook this is the coring we want from one side to another we going to add a little bit of garlic I’m going to see the garlic a little bit you don’t want to get him too Brown otherwise it will change the flavor of the of the dish then we’re going to add a little bit of white wine a little bit of salt a little bit of butter to thicken the sauce a littleit going to use a little bit of lemon juice a little bit of part I want to make sure that the strips are nice and and cooked because of the thickness to it so it takes a little longer to cook to make sure that you have enough sauce to sear them [Music] off this is a nice shrimp so using this dish it’s a very popular dish a lot of people know the shrim campy has a very good flavor in Dish it’s very simple to make everybody can make it and then I will be Serv this on a bed of mixed green Letts or spren mix I people call it I want to use a little bit of uh lme juice just a splash very end then we’re going to [Music] show grab a little bit of mixed cream we’ll make a little okay in the middle of the plate and then we’re going to lay the the shrim this is a quick need’s a dish and there you have it shrim scampy
