I keep having to start new peas because a wood chuck keeps eating mine. He lives under my shed. He ate them four times before I set up a live trap. The live trap has been up for a week. I thought I finally caught him but I was wrong.

Let that little dude go and thank him for his service. Possums eat ticks. (And are the only marsupials in North America afaik). But they eat lots of ticks, which is good given the proliferation of Lyme disease recently.

Trapping is pointless. If you remove one animal, another will take its place. There isn’t just one woodchuck in your neighborhood.

You have to put up a fence or some other barrier.
