    I’ve started 5 onions for French Onion soup and that shit takes 3+ hours easy.

    That’s always cracked me up, but just for the record, it isn’t just HF that does this. The number of times I’ve seen it in random recipes I find online, is pretty astounding. The only thing I can think of is, if they told people how long it was actually going to take, no one would bother to do it.
