hi everyone and welcome to the video series for living withouts my life with food allergies I’m Lauren from oatmeal with the fork and today I’m going to show you the recipe for one of my favorite anytime desserts this delicious raw apple crisp so let’s get started with the apples and I’ll show you how to make it so here we are with the ingredients for the base and you want to start with two sweet red apples of your choice I have two gala apples here and I like to peel mine I don’t like the chewiness of the peel but you can leave it on if you wish and then I’m going to cut these Into Thin slices just like this and then we take all the apple slices and put them into a bowl here and then then I want to top that with about about a teaspoon of lemon juice and then I add in about a teaspoon of cinnamon and then about a tablespoon of maple syrup you just want to mix all of that together like so and I find the best way to do this is with my hands so that I can get all that cinnamon and maple syrup goodness all over those apple slices just like that and then what you want to do is let this sit and mate for anywhere from 30 minutes to overnight if you’re so inclined and what the cinnamon and and sugar from the syrup does is it softens the apples just like this um lending kind of a more tender bite to the whole dish and then we’re going to take these apples and pour them into a small baking dish just spread them out a little bit and we’re going to then make our topping and I’ll be back in just a minute to show you how to do that okay now I’m going to show you how to make the topping for this delicious raw apple crisp so we have here I have a food processor which you’re going to need for this and I have this little one that I just love um into that I’m going to add thir of a cup of raw walnuts 1/4 cup of oats regular rolled oats about 2 tbspoon of pumpkin seeds a teaspoon of chia seeds and then here I have a half teaspoon of cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon of allspice and a dash of salt we’re just going to mix this until it’s kind of a mey consistency okay that looks good everything’s broken down and pretty well combined and to that we’re going to add five medle dates which are the nice soft kind um be sure to take the stones out don’t want those in there that would not be tasty just throw those right in there and then mix that together now the dates have broken down and they’re pretty well Incorporated with the rest of the ingredients so we’re going to add about a teaspoon of maple syrup I just eyeball it and then also going to add in for a little extra moisture a teaspoon of coconut milk you can use any kind of milk that you have you can also use water you can see now now we’re starting to get that nice clumpy texture consistency that’s perfect for this delicious dessert so we’re going to bring the apples back and I’ll show you how to finish this up and here’s our dish of the mercurated apples and what you just want to do this dessert is so quick and easy you just literally put the topping on there get it all out of there and spread it out just like this and grab your fork and dig in I hope you guys all enjoyed watching me make this delicious raw apple crisp and that you give it a try sometime it’s vegan friendly free of gluten dairy and eggs obviously and I hope to see you again next time bye
