    The mechanics of this morning’s flavorful breakfast were made very easy by using jarred pesto and a bottled ranch seasoning powder; I stumbled on at a local dollar store. It looks pretty fancy for something that took very little effort.

    Meal details:

    1 Large fried egg ~ 100 calories

    1 Slice toasted whole wheat bread ~ 90 calories

    3 Teaspoons jarred pesto pasta sauce (Barilla brand)~ 50 calories*

    100 grams tiny tomatoes flavored with ranch flavored seasoning and fresh basil ~ 20 calories

    1 Mug Irish breakfast tea w/sugar ~ 30 calories

    * I used the sauce as follows: 1 tsp for frying the egg in a nonstick pan; 1 tsp spread on the toast and 1 tsp drizzled on the cooked egg.
